Commercial Description:
Gulden Draak is a dark brown Triple Ale, which makes it an exception among the Belgian Triples. The second fermentation offers the nice creamy head, the full body and all the vitamins of the centuries old brewers yeast. It is a "thick" beer, that you can actually "eat" to adventure the complex taste. Gulden Draak balances a natural malt toffee-like sweetness with a mellow happiness and some hoppy accents. The aroma is round, sweet and reveals the 10.5 alcohol by volume.

On draft at JeanRo Bistro.
Pours a dark brown with ruby highlights. Smell is dark fruits, some sweetness and belgian yeast.
Taste is much the same, and it’s very good. Very creamy, full on the mouthfeel. This stuff is fantastic. This is dangerously drinkable, you never notice the ABV. This is among my favorite Belgian’s, right behind Pannepot and Rochefort 10. Delish!

dear lord, what a beer! dark, cloudy, and brooding, with a fluffy tan head. the aroma is enough to make me wish my wife wore it as cologne...dark fruit, dried fruit, caramel, dough and an alcoholic warmth on the nose. taste-wise, this is so layered it’s ridiculous. more caramel maltiness, tons of dark fruit, candi sugar, a chewy doughiness, loads of spiciness...finish is caramel, fruit, and a little bitterness. glorious! (the bottles make great candleholders for your bar, too!)

Unusual white bottle. you can taste alcohol in this one, but not too much as i expected, strong caramel and coffee taste, light co2, lot of sweetness (maybe a little too much for me)

(Belgium) Pours a dark brown color with a fabulous foamy white head with some nice carbonation. Aroma of dark fruits / alcohol / and caramel. The taste is creamy, robust, with a molasses and toffee flavor. This is a amazing strong ale, The 10.5 % alcohol is present and will deliver a T.K.O you if drink piss beer all the time.....lol. :)

The way in which the alcohol, sugar, and malts combine in this - admitted, somewhat overwhemling and vulgar - fluid is absolutely fabulous! Dark rye bread, almost german pumpernickel, raisins, prunes, hints of licorice, port, and brandy – all put together in a black Belgian brew; I’m satisfied! It may be on the strong side – but the alcohol is the factor which binds it all together. One of my all-time favorites, and will be for a long time.

Pours a deep maroon color with a medium, well-retained off white head. Smells of sweet fruits, caramel malts, and yeast mostly. The flavor was much of the same. Very fruity in its taste, molasses, figs, and grapes seem to stand out the most to me. The alcohol was seemingly masked brilliantly, as there wasnt much of a hint of the 10.5% that this brew consists of. Just a nice, well done Belgian.
