Commercial Description:
Gulden Draak is a dark brown Triple Ale, which makes it an exception among the Belgian Triples. The second fermentation offers the nice creamy head, the full body and all the vitamins of the centuries old brewers yeast. It is a "thick" beer, that you can actually "eat" to adventure the complex taste. Gulden Draak balances a natural malt toffee-like sweetness with a mellow happiness and some hoppy accents. The aroma is round, sweet and reveals the 10.5 alcohol by volume.

Sweet aroma of fruit and honey. Dark amber in color. Flavor is of molasses and barley. A Nice barley-wine type ale- had it on tap. Smooth on the palate. Overall I like it!

This beer pours a murky cola color with about two fingers worth of vigorous, rocky head. It smells like sugar, dark fruit, and a hint of cinnamon. It tastes like a rich toffee with hop bitterness in the swallow and finish. It warms as it goes and leaves a significant finish with alcohol throughout.

Pours a little murky brown color with hardly any head. Aroma of sweet candy sugar, dates and figs, brown sugar. Flavor is also very sweet and complex with a nice alcohol warming sensation within.

Brilliant clear copper color with a frothy khaki head. Nice candi sugar sweet aroma with some earthy barnyard. Medium bodied with a frothy mouthfeel. Earthy sweet musty melon flavors at first turns to spicy yeast in the middle, with a drying bitterness in the finish. Another most tasty Belgianbrew.

Reddish brown in color with a webby thick beige head. Aroma features some lightly caramelized sugar and just a bit of pineapple - perhaps also some doughy yeastiness. Highly carbonated so the initial taste is simply fizz and carbonic bite. Diving in further, I’m still not getting much beyond this bite. There’s a mellow caramel sweetness in there. The finish has some fair hop to it. Allowing it to settle and lose some carbonation: the hoppy finish has become more apparent. The caramel sugars a tad less lively. A vague tropical fruit is hinted at. Pouring the yeast in (it took awhile because of the heavy foaming) smoothed things out considerably, adding a creaminess to the palate and enhancing the fruitiness.
