Commercial Description:
Gulden Draak is a dark brown Triple Ale, which makes it an exception among the Belgian Triples. The second fermentation offers the nice creamy head, the full body and all the vitamins of the centuries old brewers yeast. It is a "thick" beer, that you can actually "eat" to adventure the complex taste. Gulden Draak balances a natural malt toffee-like sweetness with a mellow happiness and some hoppy accents. The aroma is round, sweet and reveals the 10.5 alcohol by volume.

330 ml bottle. Pours dark, hazy amber. Pretty frothy, creamy head depending on how you pour. Aroma is sweet with strawberries, bananas and alcohol. Body follows suit with some spice, syrup and sugar. This is much better as it warms to room temperature, but the alcohol is ever-present no matter what the temperature is. For the price I will find much more enjoyable belgians.

Sept. 2007 - Beer pours dark brown with huge-oh head and minimal lacing. Aroma of candied sugar. Flavor was ultra rich, heavy on brown sugar with a nice smattering of fruity flavors. Nice beer!

Pours cloudy light brown with a small head of smaller bubbles. Aroma is sweet dried fruit. yeast and a bit of alcohol. Mouth feel is surprisingly thick for a triple. The flavor is where this ale shines. Multiple fruit flavors dance around the tongue with raisin, apricot and maybe a touch of banana. Rich, sweet bread flavors follow. The alcohol is almost completely hidden besides the nice burn going down your throat. A really great ale.

Thick brown pour with some white head. Nice fruity aroma, some hints of cream and milk. Strong alcohol-grainy flavor, but also sweet. Some fruit and grape flavors. Just way too much alcohol taste. Good not great.

Yum raisins! A sweet and thick Belgian, just how I like ’em! A perfect specimen for my 100th rating! On tap at the BURPCASTLE!
