Commercial Description:
Gulden Draak is a dark brown Triple Ale, which makes it an exception among the Belgian Triples. The second fermentation offers the nice creamy head, the full body and all the vitamins of the centuries old brewers yeast. It is a "thick" beer, that you can actually "eat" to adventure the complex taste. Gulden Draak balances a natural malt toffee-like sweetness with a mellow happiness and some hoppy accents. The aroma is round, sweet and reveals the 10.5 alcohol by volume.

Clear dark red beer with a nice beige head. Low carbonation. Aroma of caramel, vanilla and dark fruits. Some overripe bananas as well. Complex flavor. Dark fruits, vanilla, caramel, some alcohol and at the end a more malty sweetness.

Bottle conditioned and courtesy of the LCBO. Deep brown body with a long-lasting tan head. Aroma of caramel and vanilla. Extremely sweet, chewy flavour, with the caramel coming through again. Goes down very smoothly, and I imagine would pair well with desserts.

Brown body, good, lasting beige head. Aroma is caramel, vanilla, alcohol. Very sweet and warm with ripe prunes, cherries, liquor, dried fruits. Some hoppy notes manage to make their way through the thick maltiness and add some balance to the finish. Smooth, olily, chewy mouthfeel. More alcohol warmth in the aftertaste. A deep and complex, even if a bit extreme, meditation beer.

Tap @ den Tatoverede Enke, Cph. Pours a deep ruby-red with a big creamy yellow-white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity with prunes, vanilla and caramel. Very dubbel-ish flavour: sweet fruity, strawberries, red apples, prunes and a vinious streak. Some spices and herbs as well. Extremely drinkable (the 10,5 % completely hidden)

Pours a very dark honey colour with a light tan head. Fruity aroma and taste. Pretty good. Drank this out of a tumbler.

Pours a deep reddish cloudy brown. Professionally crafted head, as with all the beers from this brewer that I’ve tried. Strong, biting alcohol in the scent, combined with the sweet malts it is reminiscent of liqueur filled chocolates. As I drink and the beer warms, I can also detect some nutty scents -- walnuts?. Ooo, this one is nice. Flavour is quite sweet, balanced by a monster burst of alcohol which appears at the same time a peculiar tang does -- though the tang outlasts the alcohol. Nice, fruity, and quite complex. Vanilla, apples, toffee and caramel. A few hops surface lightly in the aftertaste. Full bodied, though the finish is still somewhat dry. Throat exhibits a lasting alcohol warmth. Yum.

Bottle 33 cl. Dark brown white a grayish head. Vanilla, caramel, coffee and alcohol and alcohol with a short but good aftertaste!

25/10 0.33 l bottle at Hopdevil. Wonderful, brown colored body with big white head. Yes, white. Aroma is not very strong, but nice with caramel, fruits and other sweetness, but quite alcoholic as well. Flavor is great, well, not perfect as Rochefort 8 I had just before this, but very full bodied, nice yeasty, with fruity sweetness and some caramel malts, too. Nice finish, where again alcohol is felt. Tripel or strong ale, surely a great beer, thanks a lot Petra for choosing this one.
