Nose is vinous, dark tart fruits, maybe light chocolate too. Taste is also tart, tons of dried fruit like figs and raisins, and really nice and creamy. This beer surprised me; my favorite style already and this beer changed what I think about abts for the better. wimpie133 (159), Brugge, Belgium
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 13, 2009 Here it is, my first abt/quadrupel :D This 33 cl bottle beer has a sweet, dark fruited and caramel taste. It looks like a sort of brown-coloured beer with a beige head on it, not lacing however and disappearing. The taste is at first a bit coffee, then caramel and dark fruits, making place for a full malty and sweet taste. A hoppy aftertaste, giving a more sharp finish at the beer. A good one to drink, but it won’t be one of my favorites though. fredthecat (186), Canada

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 11, 2009 Bottle. Pours a bright copper colour with a beige head that’s short lived. Nose is fairly subdued with hints of toffee, fruitcake and sweet malts, and the flavour is fairly similar, but less restrained. In the mouth brown sugar, caramel, apples and pears all join with the elements of the aroma to create a very nice, pretty unique (in my experience) quad that hides its alcohol well and doesn’t cloy on the palate. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 6, 2009 Warm red-orange, transluscent body with luxorius beiged head. Alcoholic ripe apple nose with some apple pie spice phenolixs mixed in with the boozy apple. Zingy mouthfeel. Piquant malt, apple, and aged cider melanoidin, slightly oxidized. Subdued phenols and esters are in balance. Enjoyable mouthfeel that titillates the tongue. The alcohol is palpable, but not fuselly or overpowering. The sum may be greater than the parts.
