Commercial Description:
Gulden Draak is a dark brown Triple Ale, which makes it an exception among the Belgian Triples. The second fermentation offers the nice creamy head, the full body and all the vitamins of the centuries old brewers yeast. It is a "thick" beer, that you can actually "eat" to adventure the complex taste. Gulden Draak balances a natural malt toffee-like sweetness with a mellow happiness and some hoppy accents. The aroma is round, sweet and reveals the 10.5 alcohol by volume.

Sweet and tangy malt aroma. Dark brown color with a large off white head. Starts off slightly sweet. Alcohol is mildy noticable. Finishes smooth and creamy.

Bottle. Side note - one of the coolest bottles ever! Opaque reddish brown color, foamy tan head. Bubbles impssible to see through the haze. Maple, raison, bananna, and rum aroma. A sweet potent smell. Contrasting palate thats bubbly but at the same time heavy. Sharp fruit and hot alcohol flavor . Lack of hops notices makes this a very sweet taste. At 10.5% it is one of the stronger beers availible, but unlike artful blends like Piraat by the same brewer, this beer doesn’t mask it power gracefully, liking it to a cheap fortified malt liquor.

Corked bottle after a good day of work...thin, transparent body with a reddish-brown hue in a Chimay glass...a citrus (grapefruit?) aroma...smooth back-of-mouth malt/hop balance. The effects of the alcohol grow slowly, warming yet heightening the sensesa pleasat digestif, indeed....

Very sweet, dark brew. Highly alcoholic, but that is part of the taste. The alcohol is well masked, but what does come through contributes to the body. A very good brew, although drinking more than one in a sitting might prove difficult.

Bottle - Cloudy rouge colour, fluffy head with an alcohol aroma tainted with fruit and hops, there is an alcohol hit on the tongue with a fruity and brandy aftertaste, nice beer, strong, so drink sparingly ;-)

Aroma allergies ect... Dark brown with a Duvel esque head. Almost opaque and few bubbles. Semi-sweet chocolate taste. Alittle too sweet but not undrinkable. And the nice smooth chocolate taste more than makes up for it (putting it well above average). Velvety smooth mouthfeel. Good good brew.
