COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gulden Draak is a high fermentation beer with secondary fermentation. For the secondary fermentation, wine yeast is used. The white bottle, the black banner, the golden dragon and the red letters, constitute a stylish result that has no equal among the many Belgian special beers. Gulden Draak can be drunk as an aperitif or dessert, or whenever you have the time to sit back and relax. But this barley wine is also perfect with and in stews, especially the Ghent variety. It is also a plus in sauces for red meat, such as a bordelaise. It is particularly suited as a dessert beer, especially in combination with dark chocolate.

Tastes like your standard quality belgian. Has some sweet malty notes that I really enjoyed. In some parts, the alcohol overpowers the rest of the flavors, which is a little dissapointing. Something about this brew made it seem more drinkable than a lot of other belgians that I have had. I recommend this beer if you intend on drinking a good amount in any particular session.

Butelka. Barwa ciemno-miedziana z wysoką, obfitą kremową pianą. Aromat rodzynek, suszonych owoców (morele, śliwki), skórki od chleba, drożdże. W smaku podobnie, suszone owoce, nuty słodowe w postaci lekkiego karmelu z delikatnie rozgrzewającym szlachetnym alkoholowym finiszem. Piwo pełne i treściwe, dobrze zbalansowane. Wysokie wysycenie, z dodatkiem lekkiej goryczki. Super piwo, zachowałem kilka butelek na później.

Pours a deep reddish cloudy brown. Professionally crafted head, as with all the beers from this brewer that I’ve tried. Strong, biting alcohol in the scent, combined with the sweet malts it is reminiscent of liqueur filled chocolates. As I drink and the beer warms, I can also detect some nutty scents -- walnuts?. Ooo, this one is nice. Flavour is quite sweet, balanced by a monster burst of alcohol which appears at the same time a peculiar tang does -- though the tang outlasts the alcohol. Nice, fruity, and quite complex. Vanilla, apples, toffee and caramel. A few hops surface lightly in the aftertaste. Full bodied, though the finish is still somewhat dry. Throat exhibits a lasting alcohol warmth. Yum.

Pours black with a big tan head. Extremely sweet beer, you can really taste the yeastyness but there is also some roastyness that keeps it balanced and not overly sweet.

very tasty. Deep red, khaki head. Sweet maltiness with intense hops. Sweet and bitter combo is well balanced.

Aroma is sweet with notes of honey, brown sugar, cherries, and malt. Pours a nice golden amber color, with a good bit of head. med bodied on the palate with a nicely balanced carbonation. The taste has notes of caramel/toffee, dried fruits, and honey. Nice beer, I wasn’t sure what to expect, so I was very surprised!

This is a great beer, got a glass in front of me right now. A little pricey at 3.49 for 11.5 ounces. The alcohol flavor is well hidden compared to some other strong ales I have tasted and doesnt knock your socks off, especially for 10.5%, I like that. Also, the flavor is pretty tasty, nice and sweet. Im seriously thinking about pouring this over some pancakes. One of the better beers I have had. Decent purchase, bang for buck.
