COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gulden Draak is a high fermentation beer with secondary fermentation. For the secondary fermentation, wine yeast is used. The white bottle, the black banner, the golden dragon and the red letters, constitute a stylish result that has no equal among the many Belgian special beers. Gulden Draak can be drunk as an aperitif or dessert, or whenever you have the time to sit back and relax. But this barley wine is also perfect with and in stews, especially the Ghent variety. It is also a plus in sauces for red meat, such as a bordelaise. It is particularly suited as a dessert beer, especially in combination with dark chocolate.

Bottle. Poured a dark bown with a huge head. Nicely carbonated and very creamy. I enjoyed this beer more with each sip and suprisingly I did not find the alcohol too overpowering.

Pours dark gold, white head. Very sweet nose and aroma, strong caramel malts. Malt and sweetness predominate, a hint of alcohol. Solid.

Pours rown, clear, with superb tan foam. Plenty of malty notes; caramel, toffee, roastiness.. Rich, complex and full bodied dessert beer

on tap at sharp edge. pours a dark brown with a thinnish tan head. huge nose with dark fruits and spices knocking around. great taste with plum and other dark and bitter fruits mixed with a tasty (coriander?) spice. slightly heavier than medium bodied with a fair carbonation that finished with a tiny tingle of bitterness mixed with a tinier tingle of sweetness. a very tasty beer that got more complex and fruitier as it warmed.

Bottle. It reminds me the Rochefort Trapist 12. Quite sweet, fruity, with the classical chocolate and caramel taste of this kind of beer. Excellent.

Bottle - Nice sweet smell, also scented yeast and a little alchol, some caraml (maybe the color is just making me think that) and maybe some hop. Fruity sweet taste. Thick mouthfeel, but enjoyable, maybe a desert beer to cap off other beers. Maybe an initial alcohol taste that disappears and taken over by the sweetness, some kind of apple or raisen spice. I like it verymuch, maybe to overpowering for some. But i prefer to be overpowered by a quality receipe than overpowered by hops like an IPA. Very good beer! One of my favorite Belguims so far.

Yeasty aroma, slightly sweet in both aroma and taste. A beautiful specimen when properly poured and served, showing both legs and lace on the sides of your glass. Dark and cloudy. Allow it to warm slowly to enjoy the full range of flavors that emerge as the temperature rises.

Piwo z promocji w sieci sklepów Lidl podczas Tygodnia Piw Belgijskich. Najlepsze ze wszystkich, które wówczas zakupiłem.
