COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gulden Draak is a high fermentation beer with secondary fermentation. For the secondary fermentation, wine yeast is used. The white bottle, the black banner, the golden dragon and the red letters, constitute a stylish result that has no equal among the many Belgian special beers. Gulden Draak can be drunk as an aperitif or dessert, or whenever you have the time to sit back and relax. But this barley wine is also perfect with and in stews, especially the Ghent variety. It is also a plus in sauces for red meat, such as a bordelaise. It is particularly suited as a dessert beer, especially in combination with dark chocolate.

Clear medium brown with a fine brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet fruits and berries, alchohol and dust. Flavor is medium sweet with bitter berry notes, a little too much alchohol but overall very enjoying.

33cl bottle - pours opaque amber with rich tan foam. Nose is strawberry and yeast. Aroma is forest fruit, alcohol, plums, and caramel malts. Taste is dominantly sweet. Candy aftertaste. Full body with slick texture. I would pair this with venison in a currant sauce and skip out on the food (medieval cooking is gross).

Brown/orange with a crazy head. Sweet aroma of syrup or dark sugar. Well carbonated with traces of honey riding along with the malt. Finish is clean, leaving a bit of bit o honey sweetness.

Aroma of grapes or black cherries, dark amber body, lots of carbonation. Malty, syrupy, makes you think of wine or grape juice. Slight bite of hops is perfectly blends in perfectly with the carbonation to give just the lightest sharp edge to the end of a long, flavorful, syrupy sip. Some sips seem overcarbonated but some are perfect. One of the best for sure.

Draft. Chocolate toffee flavor, nutty roasted undertones. Creamy mouth feel. Warm alcohol, caramel right off the bat on flavor and aroma.

birra dall’aroma delicato, caramello, cioccolato all’apparenza il colore va dal rosso allo scuro,il gusto è molto dolce e maschera la gradazione alcolica, non è molto corposa e il finale è lungo e caldo.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma of spice. Solid beer, nice and fruity. Sweet and almost had a little pineapple in there.

Bottle; Pour is murky dark brown/ amber, with a fine bubbled khaki head that retains well - some sticky lacing is present here as well. There are some interesting, sweet caramel and toffee sweetness on the nose, with dark fruits present as well. Candied sugar , definitely - it’s nice. Probably the highlight of the beer feature wise. The flavor profile isn’t quite as nice.. ...More sweetness out of the gate really - mild bittering hops, caramel, brown sugar, marshmallows, and more dark fruits here - some plum skins.. with some molasses ... i suppose. The prickly carbonation is a little annoying, i guess - Interesting brew though

Pint on tap at Kickbacks, Jacksonville. Dark amber beer with a light tan head. Sweet Belgian aroma. Flavor is smooth and lightly sweet with caramel and dark fruits. Very enjoyable to drink, tasty and little hint of the high alcohol. Excellent.
