3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very daark. Brown head, not lasting. Lots of butterscotch and fruit in the nose. Very warming mouthfeel, lots of alcohol in this one. Super sweet, low bitterness. Moderate carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Beautiful dark Brown colour with a light brown long lasting head. Nose is sweet and fruity somewhat plummy. Taste is typhically sweet as it goes for these belgian strong ales. With a warm alcohol finish. Less complex than fex rochefort 10 though less sweet.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
clear ruby-brown colour, fine head and correct lacing, prune and malt in the nose, very yeasty/bready, sweet and full-bodied, some bitterness in a slightly dry finish, long aftertaste of malt, alcohol and bread; very powerful - this beer has been one of my old-time top ten but I don’t love it as much as I used to

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle poured in a Grimbergen chalice.
A: Beautiful dark red amber to brown color with a one or two fingers beige head. Good retention. Not much lacings (served quite cold and enjoyed in my balcony :))
S: Lovely smell. Sweet. Caramel and roasted malts followed by dark fruits and Belgian yeasts
T: Complex taste. Very good. Bitter-sweet Belgium style. Toffee and caramel. You can feel the alcohol but not much considering the high ABV. Dark fruits (plums and grapes). Hoppy bitter end
M: Pleasant. Medium carbonation and again, balanced alcohol taste. Very nice bitter end
D: Very good despite of the high ABV. Very "Belgium" dark ale. Strongly recommend

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle with expiry date 23.10.2015. Dark brown colour, small head. Aroma is complex, more fruity than in similar Belgian beers, with figs, bread, alcohol. Medium sweetness. Lively carbonation. Alcohol does not disturb. Good one.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

Foams up with extreme ease to the extent that it can be hard to pour from the bottle. Deep amber colour. Very thick on the tongue and quite sweet. Boozy. Not really sure what the big deal is about this beer unless you like them strong.

4.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Deep amber color. Rich taste. Thick and slightly sweet. Always a good go to. No harsh taste like some darks, but also not under rated.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Deep brown and red color with white head. Sweet malt and ripe fruit in aroma. Sweet taste with quite low bitterness. Flavors of chocolate, raisin, belgian yeast, caramel, roasted malt and alcohol. Nice strong beer but a bit too sweet for me.
