Bottle. Ruby amber in colour, small off white head. Heaps of caramel, toffee, burnt sugar thing going on, some red cedar too. I didn’t actually "eat" it, as the description recommends, but i got a bit of the mellow happiness.

Jan 6, 2010 Pours a dark brown, slightly translucent. Nice 2 finger head that dissapates quickly. Aroma is sweet, caremlized sugars and malt. Taste is sweet, subtle roasted malt, a bit of puckering sourness, fruity, with an almost metallic aftertaste that I could do without. Palate-wise, the beer is a bit too carbonated, with tightly nit bubbles tickling the tongue. Even with it’s issues, still a great tasting and very enjoyable beer!

Jan 5, 2010 The beer poured a nice darkbrown with a light brown head. the smell is of sweet malts, prune, and brown sugar. The taste is sweet but not too much. good carbonation.

Jan 1, 2010 Deep, reddish brown with a coffee-froth head that mostly disappears. The nose is like the inside of an apple pie: baked apples and cinnamon. It’s lightly carbonated and has a fig / raison & fig sweet taste, somewhat herbal bite. In the aftertaste, this bite progresses into a light burning/warmth at the back of the throat. Nice brew that I could not afford to drink on a regular basis.

Dec 31, 2009 Dark golden pour with a fluffy dense head. Aroma is sweet, some mellow fruit and faint bitterness and caramel. Flavor is big, sweet, nice spice level and alcohol. Big creamy body and lots of sugary toffee sweetness and spice with a hint of white pepper and candy corn.

Dec 30, 2009 Bottle (small sample). Red/brown pour, thin tan head. Mildly sour nose - fruity. Taste was toffee, caramel, and some sour fruit. Not my favorite. May need to try in a larger quantity to get the full bouquet.

Dec 30, 2009 355ml bottle. Pours deep orange-amber. Almost brown. Small head that vanishes quickly. Nose is fruity and flowery. Taste is real, real smooth. The high alcohol level is very well disguised. Very nice beer.

Dec 26, 2009 An interesting Ale. Very light tasting of fruits. Smells same. I didn’t think it was thick enough to eat but it definitely has substance. It poured brown and tasted fine. I like this one and would buy it again.
