Mogwai (186), Askeby, Denmark Sep 7, 2008 Tap at Ølbaren. Pours a dark brown colour with white head. Tasted at a pub crawl. It was free and great. Very vinouos aroma and flavor with dark fruits, caramel, syrup. Malts and sugar. Lovely. And free that day :-) mmm///beer (546), Austin, Texas, USA Sep 4, 2008 11.2 oz bottle in trade from mar-thank you! Served in trappist glass- poured brownish amber with copper tints, low-medium carbonation, clump of off tan bubbles in the middle for a head, some spotting lacing. Aroma of alcohol, brown sugar, and figs. Hits the mouth with a well defined medium body, very sticky throughout, tons of flavors ranging from candy sugar to hardwood to allspice, finish lingers around until you take another sip. It’s not Westy 12, but it’s real close... KyotoLefty (113), Kyoto, Japan Sep 1, 2008 Dark reddish brown, huge tan head. Enticing aroma of fruit, spice, whiskey, figs, caramel. Huge flavor of caramel/molasses, figs, spices, maple syrup. The aroma is just a bit too faint, but the flavor is great. Slightly lighter in body than I expected. cbkschubert (1573), Skyline, Arizona, USA Aug 31, 2008 33 cl bottle - Pours a deep amber color with a 3/4 finger thick off white head that faded somewhat quickly for a Belgian ale. Very light lacing. Aroma is mainly esters, light malt and alcohol. Well, flavor is much of the same. I think the alcohol detracts from this beer. Medium body. A decent beer. ucusty (1077), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 29, 2008 Poured deep ruby red with a nice, long lasting tan head. Lightly roasty and mostly chocolate malts with a hint of brett. Soft and thick palate - reminded me of a chocolate milkshake! The finish was full of dark sugar and warming alcohol. Overall this beer is a little too hot
