A great looking beer took a while for it to settle. nice dark chocolate colur with thick frothy head and great lace. had a burnt coffee/chocolate malt nose. found the malty taste to be a bit thin almost watery. not a bad beer but would prefer a chewy taste to a stout.

Had this at Moby's on Saltpring Island. They called it Salty Isle Stout, but I'm pretty sure it's the same beer. This was definitely the best of the brews I've had from this brewery. Pitch black in colour with a thick and creamy dark brown head. Huge coffee aroma with hints of molasses. Wonderfully creamy texture with coffee flavour, faint fruitiness and an intensely bitter finish that lasts and lasts. Bitterness seems to come from astringency of the grains and from the presence of hops. Very good brew.
