UPDATED: OCT 23, 2003 Stang brew with lots of differences in it. Skuny smell but looks great. So so taste but feels very good in your mouth. Grain and mold aroma. Orange colour, perfect head, good lacing. Sweet and soft but no special flavors. Very long, sweet, chewing gum finish.

Copper-golden with a moderate head. The aroma has notes of malt, hops, flower and fruit (dark), the flavour is very full, initially sweet but with a nice hoppy bitter finish. I find notes of malt and fruit, and it’s a nice Dortmunder. 1857

Bottle. Nice head with medium duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are sweet malt, hops and notes of caramel. Oily palate.

Bottle. Pours a light body light amber, with a sickly looking offwhite head that rapidly goes down. Nose is a sweet metallic. Taste is sweet quickly taken over by the bitter of the hops. Fast hoppy finish.

Clear amber coloured beer with small white head. Central carbonation. Sweet caramelish aroma. Full palate, a little bitter. Malty ending a little bitter and fruity.

Die Schaumkrone hält mittelmäßig. Es riecht süß malzig und im Hintergrund leicht fruchtig-alkoholisch. Geschmacklich ist es recht süß und leicht alkoholisch-grasig. Fazit: Gut für ein Holländisches Starkbier da gibt es einige schlechtere vor allem im normalen Supermarkt, insgesamt ist es aber dennoch nicht mehr als durchschnittlich und für die Sorte mittelmäßig interessant.

Clear brown with orange glow, small instantly dissipating head.
Thin aroma with fresh hop and malts, maybe some of the described flowers, just maybe.
Wide but thin flavour of wheat, hops, caramel, wood and spices.
Kind of like a rich flavoured pilsener.

Amberkleurig, ruikt en smaakt een beetje als roggebrood. Lichtzoet in het begin, droogbittere afdronk. Niet slecht maar ook niet geweldig.

Clear amber color, quickly diminishing slightly off white foam head. Tones of flowers and honey, good hop taste. Taste quickly dissapeares.

Murky light brown orange with a white head. Sour fruit to wine smell. Very deep malt with a gritty finish
