Bottle 30 cl. Amber, clear with a short lived head. Aroma; sweet, malty, caramel and some fruits. Flavor; very soft and sweet malty with a hoppy sence, quite nice.

Die Schaumkrone hält mittelmäßig. Es riecht süß malzig und im Hintergrund leicht fruchtig-alkoholisch. Geschmacklich ist es recht süß und leicht alkoholisch-grasig. Fazit: Gut für ein Holländisches Starkbier da gibt es einige schlechtere vor allem im normalen Supermarkt, insgesamt ist es aber dennoch nicht mehr als durchschnittlich und für die Sorte mittelmäßig interessant. I was reminded how good this beer is on a resent trip to Holland, I had it on draught at the wonderful ’Potshuiske’ on the banks of the river Mass in Masstricht. I obtained a bottle to review because of that. Brown 33cl bottle,best before Oct 2007, drank Sept 2007. Poured into a Veltins Pilsner glass. The beer is an dull old gold, dark lager colour, very clear but not sparkling as such. A white well formed head soon dissipates leaving a thin scattering of wispy twirls. The aroma is not this beers strong point, malty smell, but like its close beer brother the pilsner, there is no powerful wiff to it. The taste is where it comes into its own. A lovely mix of sweetness, maltiness and bitterness. It is a fine tasting beer. This beer has a body to it, the character of the flavours hang around, the aftertaste is a strong and wholesome as the first sip. A very nice drink and one I will look out for again. I have had beers from Dortmund but don’t remember them being so interesting as this Dort is. Maybe they were Pilsners and not Dorts.

30 cl. bottle @ home. Clear amber with a white head. malty flowery aroma. hoppy taste with some very faint roasted malts. Pilsenerlike in taste, yet more powerful and tastier.

Clear amber beer, with decent white head. Caramel malty aroma with some spices and overripe fruit. Taste like aroma. Body is ok, carbo as well. Nice beer bij Gulpener. It seems to be my favorite macro-brewery from the Netherlands.

Clear amber color, quickly diminishing slightly off white foam head. Tones of flowers and honey, good hop taste. Taste quickly dissapeares. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Pothuiske, Maastricht.
Bit opalescent, fine creamy white head. Moderated aroma with caramel, light spicies and fruits like coriander and peach, decent yeasts. Medium bodied one, sourish yeast with peach and green apple, light caramel. Fine, easy drinkable but not a very special.

A Dutch helles, nice. So it starts of well, with a full amber body look and fierce light tan head. Mild, pleasant aroa with earthy, noble hop profile, dades and brown sugar. Taste is more boring, sight malty and even a but syrupy. Accessible but not as refreshing as you’d like nor very full of flavour. Okay. (On tap at Jan Primus)

Ljust bärnstensfärgad öl med lätt vitt skum. Smörkola i doften. Något tun n och sticker inte ut. En i mängden öl.

Bottle 30cl. Pours a clear golden pilsener like colour with a large head and good carbonation. Aroma is dry and yeasty.

Amberkleurig, ruikt en smaakt een beetje als roggebrood. Lichtzoet in het begin, droogbittere afdronk. Niet slecht maar ook niet geweldig.
