Pours dark golden with a medium head. Aroma and flavor are malts with quite metallic alcohol. Barely drinkable.

Bottle @ Odense Tasting, September 2011. Pours clear golden with a small frothy white head. Sweet and thin. Grain and corn. Warmth from alcohol. A bit hot.

Dominance of sweet alcohol. Masking any other, perhaps more interesting flavours in there.

Golden gibt sich der Gladiator mit moussierendem Schaum. Der Duft kommt malzig-metallisch rüber. Viele Geschmackseindrücke geistern im Mund herum. Vorwiegend malzig und süß ist das Geschehen. Zum Abgang hin wird es holziger mit Marzipannoten. Der Alkohol hält sich erstaunlich weit zurück.
Der Gladiator ist ein schweres Geschütz, geradezu vollgepackt mit Geschmacksaromen. Das ist anfangs interessant, auf Dauer aber zu anstrengend.Test vom 8.4.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Can at home. Clear golden pour, thick white head. Aroma of sweet candy malts, artificial lemon and some floral hops. Flavor is quite bitter and sweet with a heavy alcohol sting. Could have been slightly better if it hadn’t such a high ABV, but I suppose that high ABV is the whole purpose of this brew. Not for me.. Drainpour.

Das schmeckt gar nicht mehr feierlich... Es schmeckt abartig medizinisch, der Nachgeschmack zieht sich viel zu lange hin. Absolut untrinkbar!

Can thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a clear golden body and a large white head. Aromas of metal, grain, corn, lemon, herbs, baked biscuit and alcohol. Flavors are very sweet, big time marzipan/sweet almond paste, cardboard, alcohol, corn, grain. Very candy like. Sickly sweet. Some bitterness as well. Creamy carbonation. Boozy. Not enough flavor to justify the alcohol. Not horrible, but... Really a malt liquor IMHO (even if it is all malt).
