Dark Amber-coloured beer with a nice head. very strong lager, tastes like alcohol, some fruits and a bit sweetened, quite bitter beer.

From BA (December 2007): Brown 30cl bottle best before the end of Dec 2007, so drank just in time! Big beer (10%) so poured into a big glass, my lovely ’Judus’ one. Looks good, dark golden amber colour with a full white head bubbles rising up to replenish it, sadly the head began to leave before I started drinking, not so good. It’s a strong lager (not an English Barleywine) so I wasn’t expecting a huge aroma, I wasn’t dissappointed. There are hints of sweet malts and biscuits but they have only been captured because of the glass I used. The alcohol hits you straight away but hops, yeast and a dry hay taste are in there too, Scottish shortcake biscuits (good quality, made with real butter) are somehow in the flavour as well. All the flavours stay, the alcohol obviously stays the longest, but for such a strong lager it isn’t metalic or tinny towards the end. One of the better ’head banging’ lagers I have tried over the years.

Gedronken bij dutchdrebus uit een halve liter blik, 10 % en dat proef je ook wel. Mooi goudkleurig en helder. Gist bovenin/schuim. Sterk bier, smaakt zoet en naar caramel.

50cl can @ home. I was expecting something brown because of the colours of the can, bit it’s a really nice golden yellow colour with a nice white head. Smells alcohol, glue, sharp and malts. Tastes sweet, alcoholic, malty. I don’t really like it. Im glad im sharing this one. Bit too heavy for me. Palate is warming, okay carbo - but too heavy like i said.

blik 50cl Kleur: helder, gouden kleur, met witte schuimkraag. Geur: alcohol, mout. Smaak: Voornamlijk alcohol, en wat zoet.

Can. Clear golden colour, good white head. Malty, grainy aroma. Alcoholic aroma and flavour. Sweetnes and maltiness all over the place. Noting special.. hard to finish.

Can 50cl. Pours a clear pilsener golden colour with a normal size head and carbonation. Aroma is hard to detect, almost absent. Can smell some grains and notes of malts there. Taste is full, but not very divers, mainly malts hops and alcohol really. Not bad for a strong lager, but nothing special.

Pours dark golden with a white head. Aroma is malt, DMS and alcohol. Flavour is malt, burning alcohol and light DMS.

Can. Golden colour, small white head. Malty aroma with some alcohol. Flavour is sweet malt, grain and alcohol. Medium-bodied, some bitterness in the finish.

This beer feels terrible in your mouth. Leaves bad taste and basically sucks.

Pours a clear and amber beer with a white head. The aroma is weak with malt. The flavor follows the nose with additional alcohol. The palate is alcoholwarmth with sweetness. Overall a boring beer.
