3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jerohen (1863) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - MAR 16, 2013
Bottled from some shop in the south of Limburg, harvest of 2010, sampled in 2013. Brown colored, medium off-white head. Malty nose, caramel, ’aged’ notes, molasses, bread. Initially sweet flavor, caramel malts, becomes more dry in finish. It really feels like the aging works, and the dryness in finish makes it very drinkable. Not being a big fan of bocks in general, i thought this one was quite nice.

Sample at Mitra Bier Experience 2012. Slightly hazy red brown, nice full light brown head. Aroma is overripe fruit and malt. Taste is raisins, overripe fruit, dades. Ok body and carbo.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Douberd (629) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 19, 2013
Green 750 ml bottle, corked and caged. Poured into a snifter. ABV is 6,5%
Two full fingers of beige creamy head, with very good retention. Light lacing left behind. A little bit of activity in the glass. Colour of the beer itself is a really nice, alive dark ruby colour when hold against the light, almost brown when it just sits on the table.
Aroma is quite similar to the wider available, mainstream let’s say, bock beer of the brewery. Lots of stewed fruits, caramel, molasses.
Taste is sweet at first, becoming sweet/sour right afterwards. Again, fruits, sugars and some spices, reminded me of mulled wine. As it warms up, it becomes even better, as the sourness seems to fade away.
Medium thickness on the body, with the sour finish being a long one. As of carbonation, I would say average.
Overall, very good beer.

75 cl. bottle shared with my dad @ home, bought @ Mitra. dark ruby/amber with a tan head. Malty aroma. Good bittersweet malty taste with a sour undertone due to the aging. Very nice aged bockbeer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 erickok (2282) - Tours, FRANCE - MAR 22, 2012
Nice dark copper, but a beige, somewhat ugly head. Dough, simple Belgian malty dubbel style base, allspice, caramel, simple cookies. Light sweet palate but unfortunately a bit sticky aftertaste. Decent brew. Is a good beer to get into more expressive or strange craft beers. Fairly flavourful overall. (75cl bottle)
