(bottle, 75c, vintage 2008) Almost clear, ruby brown colour with a beige and thick foamy head. Sweet toasty malty and nutty aroma with earthy notes, dried prunes and caramel. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Toast-malty and nutty taste with soft notes of caramel, medium-dry toasty malty and slightly vinous fruity finish. Very good. 12.V.10

UPDATED: APR 10, 2012 Ruby red. Sticky, soy sauce or sugar syrup. Very well balanced. One of the better gulpeners.

erickok (1086) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAR 22, 2012
Nice dark copper, but a beige, somewhat ugly head. Dough, simple Belgian malty dubbel style base, allspice, caramel, simple cookies. Light sweet palate but unfortunately a bit sticky aftertaste. Decent brew. Is a good beer to get into more expressive or strange craft beers. Fairly flavourful overall. (75cl bottle)

Aroma malts caramel some wood. Poors amber with thin white head. Taste sweet hint of hop. 75cl bottle.

Countbeer (1943) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - DEC 30, 2011
Bottle: Pours a clear darker ruby colored beer with a big vast beige/creamy head that changes into a smaller fluffy head. Smell malts, caramel, prunes, nuts, autmn herbs and light hint of toffee. Taste is quite the same with hints of malts, caramel, bitter, metal, autmunal herbs, leaves, toasted malts and barleys. Toasty malty barley bitter aftertaste. Low carbo, soft light spicy mouthfeel, medium to fuller body and a light creamy texture. Good beer. Tasty!

Bottle. Dark brown pour, thin off-white head. Aroma is faint sweet malty sugary grains. Flavor is sweet sugar with quite round spicy edges. Well balanced and smooth. Quite watery though.

It was quite ok, not great. Beige head, amber body. Caramel, dark fruits, raisins. Falvour is a bit caramelized malts. Wouldn’t have guessed this beer ripened for 12 months. There are much better bocks.

courtesy of oh6gdx - cloudy dark brown colour with a little long lasting beige foam; some lacework; shy sweet malty in the nose, hints of cacao and caramel; quite sweet and full-bodied, no bitterness and slightly herbal; long aftertaste of caramel - not terrible

Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 23, 2011
Naja... Danke an Kiwianer! 8/7/8/8/11/7
