3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Koelschtrinker (6546) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 14, 2011
Sehr fruchtiger Geruch, hefig, scharf.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Martinus (666) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - APR 28, 2011
Hazy, grayish yellow, fluffy white head which isn’t as thick as sometimes with other whites.
Aroma is wheaty, fruity, a bit sour. Nice floral tones, some vanilla. Fresh taste, citrus, wheat malts, some apricot. Light spiciness. Bit tart. Hops almost not noticable though. Nicely refreshing. (from bottle)
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Schroppfy (2319) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - FEB 26, 2011
I LOVE the touch of gray in some witbiers, added to the brown, yellow, bright gold. This is one of those. Great dense foam head in the final 300 ml, great body for a witbier, solid, filled with great sediment. The aroma has some cheese and forest mushroom, pungent, other really fragrant and direct spicing in the mouth (clove, pepper). Flavors lightly sour, lightly bitter, lightly sweet. Wheaty tangy creaminess with actual citrus fooling me going on; there seems to be orange in here. Very spicy. Best before August 2011. From Wine of Dreams. Awesome witbier experience. I recall fondly reading about this beer on this website something like 8 years ago - oh wait, let me check that here on Ratebeer!

Bottle. Hazy light yellow pour with a good white head. Hints of citrus and banana in the aroma. Smooth taste with banana and belgian wit notes. Ok bodied with a nice finish. Nice wit!
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ALLOVATE (1535) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - JAN 14, 2011
Tasting from Dec’ 2007. Out the stumpy swingtop bottle and into it’s own straight wall glass. Straw yellow, dull and hazy. Compact snow-white head is mostly lasting, good legs. Interesting aroma that is doughy, yeasty and lactic with traces of vanilla ice-cream, damp cardboard, rubber, matchsticks, yoghurt and a lot of lemon-peel. A lot of wheat, strawberries, rust and a good dollop of vanilla ice-cream fill the mouth first. Good sour edge hits in back, quite doughy, yeasty, mildly phenolic, smooth into the swallow. Wheat flavour dominates even in the aftertaste where just a hint of lemon zest, elderberry and rye reside. Slammed this down extra quick, the sprightly carbonation and relatively light body make it race across the palate. This is very refreshing stuff and bonus points for being original. June 2007 Warning! Early amateur rating! Typical wheat beer flavours but with a pronounced banana tone. Didn’t notice the eldferflower!

Bottle looks good, beer in the glass very zippy, small head. Starts mild, modest yeasty, some light fruity notes of lemon. Finish more yeasty, a bit dry, still too mild. Very drinkable, but nothing special!
