Bottle, 30cl. Albert Heijn XL Nijmegen. Aroma: Grass, herbal, citrus, honey, coriander. Appearance: Honey/yellow/orange colour with a slightly offwhite head. Taste: Malty with some citrus and something sweet. Honey. Palate: Sweet, honey aftertaste with some herbal bitterness from the hops and coriander lingering. A very good witbier.

Can from Seoul Plaza. Aroma fruity, I get raspberries, which is quite surprising. Typical wit aromas beneath that. Hazy yellow to golden colour, good sized white head. Taste nicely combines the weird fruity element from aroma with traditional flavours. Clove, spicy, peppery. Nicely balanced. Easily drinkable.

Geruch schwach, intensiver Geschmack nach Nelke. Der Nachgeschmack ist sogar leicht scharf.

Drinking from a 33 cl bottle. In the aroma I have mainly citrus. The unclear pale yellow beer has a medium white head. What you expect from a witbier you’ll get in the taste. Grains, citrus, and a bit sour. Medium carbonated.

0.33L bottle. Pours a hazy pale with a medium white head. Aromas are strongly like a weissbier: banana and yeast. Flavor is initially sweet with lots of the banana and mild citrus. Not much in flavor going on in the middle, finishes with lots of yeast flavor. Medium body with a thin mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Overall, an midling wit beer that is fairly uni-dimensional. Tasty enough, but nothing special.

0.33l bottle @ Hotel room in Amsterdam. Looks like it should, straw golden yellow, cloudy and it has a one medium sized fading white islandy head. Sweetish nose, lots of wheat sweet actually, butterscotch, not to pleasant to be honest but it works. Tastes alright. It’s again on the sweeter path. Alcohol is actually surprisingly noticeable even though its a mild one on the abv. There’s hay, wheat sweetness and even some caramel. Does the job, but not something I need to try again. 07.03.2014

Well-known Dutch interpretation of the witbier style with a name and label that refer to the (in the Low Countries) all but disappeared European hamster. Made with rye and spelt as well as elderberry flowers. Curaçao and coriander noticeable in the aroma along with sourish wheat and the other grains, fruity, soft with aromatic ’floweriness’, which is reflected in the light, gentle, elegant taste, with nice yeastiness and delicate character. I liked this quite a lot, for its style at least.
