Ruikt lekker zoet. Weinig schuim. Heel lekker zoetig bier, vrij licht. En nog goed voor de planeet ook toch?

[Draught at De Ysbreeker, Amsterdam, May 15] 2nd rating of my Paris/Amsterdam trip. Pours a clear deep golden-orange with an average size diminishing frothy white head. Some lacing. Aroma of bready malt, dark fruit, nuts and light hops. Flavour is hoppier then expected, for the style, along with malt, dark fruit and nuts. Average bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Better then I expected, a good Bock.

0,33l Flasche. Goldenes Bier mit kleiner cremiger Schaumkrone. Riecht leicht malzig, im Geschmack intensiv malzig, einige Caramelnoten kommen noch durch.

Helder donkergeel bier zonder schuim. Smaak is licht bitter en licht zoetzuur met sporen van anijs en vanille. Smaak blijft redelijk lang hangen, voor mij een goede lentebock. Etiket is inmiddels gewijzigd.

30cl bottle at home, deeper golden pour with a white head. Grains, cut grass, herbal notes, citrus, small hint of Peach, malts. Pretty refreshing and enjoyable for a big brewery

The beer is perfectly golden clear. The layer of foam is minimal. A pity, I like a big creamy layer of foam. But of course, this isn’t the type of beer were you expect such a layer. The first impression is good. The beer is quite bitter. Luckily i haven’t eaten anything sweet, otherwise the bitternes would have been overwhelming. If you let the beer rol over your tongue, you taste a sweet little fruity flavor. It definitely taste’s like spring. And just like spring, where days blessed with sun are followed by rainy days, the bittersweetness is followed by a long and bitter finish. If you like bitterness, you can surely appreciate this beer. Luckily I do. This beer can truly be recommended. A nice product from the beautiful Dutch ground.

Sample pour of mild amber gold with white head. Nose is sweetness and mild caramel. Fully malted with little to no hop presence.

Typical, unpasteurized Dutch spring bock, orange blonde in colour, with a caramelly and bit honeyish main character, fruity, soft, gentle and sweetish as any Dutch spring bock should be, finishing in an elegant hoppiness. Light and a bit frivolous, one of the better examples of the style, at least as far as the larger brands are concerned.
