2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
In loving memory to my MOM who always drank this style. Clear dark brown, small light brown foam head. Sweet caramle aroma and taste, although not too sweet this one. (Arnhem 201506)

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
330ml bottle (Traveller’s, Tallinn)
I like oud bruins. In particular the oud part. The ageing in wooden barrels or vats. That I love. And there’s none of that here. It’s nicely dark, and has a gentle malty sweetness to its aroma. But there it ends. Once in the mouth, it’s just a bland sweet malt drink. That’s it. Malta. I was going to ask for a change of style to Flemish red, but fick it, this beer isn’t worth the effort.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Typical Dutch oud bruin, so a brown table beer that has nothing to do with what is called ’oud bruin’ in Belgium. Dark reddish brown colour, beige head, malty nose, caramel, chocolate, sweet taste, bit sugary as expected for the style, bit fuller and maltier than usual but inevitably thin due to the low alcohol content.

3.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: APR 10, 2014 It is a good sweet dark beer. And it is only 3,5% alcohol, so you can enjoy more bottles ;-) but it is a pity they used artifical sweetner. Overall nice beer, would buy it again.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pours dark brown with a yellow-white foam head. It has some caramel tones, but the artificial sweetener taste is a bit bothersome. OK during a meal, but that’s about it.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle @ home. Aroma is dusty malt, sugar and caramel. Flavour is big caramel, unfermented malt, some weird herbal liquorice something. Not as bad as expected.
