2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
17 June 2005 - (Brasserie Lefeb) - Sweet malt and low hop complexity. Clear dark brown-black colour, with thick lacing and head. Sick sweet flavour and low complexity. Damn sweet malt beer. Overall - This is a beer I would use for cooking, although not too bad for a low alcohol beer.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
(bottle) Dark brown colour with a big foamy tanned head slowly lacing. Soft sweet malty aroma with notes of butter and wet straw. Slight sweet flavour, distinctive malty taste with caramel and a buttery pleasant aftertaste with a slight bitterness. Well done Oud Bruin, definitely not too sweet and quaffable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
A brown beer with a light brown head. The aroma is sweet caramel, with notes of straw. The flavor is sweet caramel too - with notes of straw, grain, and a slightly dry woody end and an OK bitterness. The body though is thin.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice looking dark brown colour. Very malty and caramelly. Not as thin as some Oud Bruins.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Dark brown colour, good head, not really lasting. Liquorice aroma, with caramel traces. The flavour is obviously light, not too sweet (liquorice and chococolate), but even not watery. A very easy to drink beer: it will never be one of my favourite beers, but I've got to admit that it's pleasant to drink one of these in the summertime!

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Sweet, grainy and sugary, with a fairly clean palate. Caramel. Not too thin and watery. One of the better Dutch oud bruins.
