Farblcih ist dieses Gulpener Braun, die Schaumkrone hält gut. Es riecht grasig-säuerlich-wässrig. Geschmacklich ist es grasig-süßlich, leicht dunkelmalzig, etwas wässrig und hopfig, im Nachgeschmack bleibt es hopfig, aber das grasige lässt nach, leicht herb und wässrig. Fazit: Schade die Wässrigkeit schadet dem Bier, gefällt mir nicht so gut!

Brown 30cl bottle, best before Jan 2008, drank July 2007.
Poured into Corsendonk tulip glass.
Lovely clear terracotta red colour, small white foam head.
No aroma really, not even as the beer warmed, a bit of malted biscuits if I am being kind.
Not a great beery taste, more a watery malted drink, the mouthfeel is also poor, no hops, yeast or anything to do with a true Belgian Pale Ale.

Gedronken bij dutchdrebus samen met benzai en joris. Heeft een bruine heldere kleur met niet veel schuim,

Copper colour with little to no head. Smells little to nothing. Some caramel, nuts, sugar, sweet. Tastes malty, sweet. Okay. Bit flat on the carbo. Thin body.

33cl bottle thanks to Dutchdrebus. Clear copper to amber color, small white head. Smell malts, lightly sweet, hints of nuts. Taste malts, lightly sweet, hints of caramel. Low body, low carbo.

Pours a clear amber colour with a small head and little carbonation.
Aroma is sweet and fruity, nothing much there.

Brown coloured beer with very limited carbonation and a small brown head. Short light malty and sweet caramel hinted aroma. Medium light creamy palate. Finish is malty and fruity sweet. Short ending but rather special.

Bottle:
Medium white head on top of a light cloudy darker orange colored beer.
Smell sweets, malts, sugars and some fruits.
Taste is less sweet than smell with some hints of malts, herbs, some fruit and watery sugars.
Medium carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a light watery texture.
Nothing really special.

De naam en omschrijving beloven weinig goeds. "Een kruising tussen pils en oud bruin". Maar het valt me niet tegen. Voor een bier van slechts 4,5% voelt en smaakt het vrij vol. Schuimkraag is behoorlijk stevig. Kortom, hij voelt goed aan, maar is niet bijzonder geweldig qua smaak.

Brown color; small head. Light caramel aroma. Sweet caramel flavor, very low bitterness. Simple.
