(on bottle) At last this brewery keeps its promise and brews with valle, the liquid extracted from the milk in cheeceproduktion. Used in the day for pregnant women, now quite rare in brewing. In DK anyway. So doesit do anything to this semi,-slighty-sour-bock? No, even talking to the brewer, he has problems finding any differrence from the normal Doppel Bock from the same brewhouse. Sad, but then again, fun to work on with; I´m still waiting for that milk stout i suggested some 1½ year ago.

It’s hazy, red mahogany and the head is creamy. The aroma has notes of anise (strong), but alsom light caramel and malt. The mouthfeel is rather oily. The flavor is slightly sour and the anise is very dominating, but I also find coriander, roasted malt and caramel. The finis is dry and spicy. IMO the spices are too dominating.

Clear medium brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light heavy malty, caramel, spicy, coriander, anis. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, and spicy. Body is medium, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft. [20090813]
