COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ales were traditionally brewed strong, with generous additions of hops to survive the long sea voyages from Brittain to the colonies. This version is a rich and hoppy, but filtered to refine its appearence. East Kent Goldings hops give it a floral aroma, tending to turn herbaceous, even weedy, as it warms. The palate is smooth and very mouthcoating, with some diacetyl present. The bitterness lingers long after the swallow, a reminder to a drinker of a bygone era.

It wasn’t that bad, a bit timid its flavours, and its not hoppy enough for me, or malty for that matter, easy to drink though.

Dull copper coloured body with a small head and some lacing. Cascade hops very light in taste and a little bit oily. Decent looking brewbar now they just need some decent brews to go along with it.

Slightly cloudy gold colour, pineapple aroma, with resiny, pine flavour, dry malt, with a thin finish. Seems like consistency is a problem for this brewer.

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2005 Draught at AIBA, Melbourne. Clear deep golden, small creamy head. Grapefruit aroma. Dry, really hoppy and salty with clean, hard, primitive malt profile and a strikingly bitter, near inky finish. A brave but rather unrefined example of the style.

I had this with a great steak at the Gunn Island Pub. It was great and I feel that it will impress some of you beer afficinados if you can get to it. It had good colour, aroma and palate and tasted a little bit too hoppy. I will buy it again definately.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2004 I’ve had this a few times previously and it was never very good (including one phenolic infection), but this time it was pretty good. Aroma is malty like vanilla ice cream with caramel topping. Flavour is caramel malty, with quite a solid bitterness. Certainly not enough hop flavour or aroma to be an IPA but pretty nice nonetheless. (7/4/7/3/13) RR: Has dropped the "Cut Snake" from its name. Vaguely like an APA but mostly just thin, metallic and soulless. Vague lambic quality. My mate asked why a beer like this would taste so much like VB - I couldn’t really answer him. Nothing like the last time I had it. Looking at my previous rating I’d say the time it was good was the anomaly, so I’m adjusting the numbers accordingly.

Dryish. Pleasant cow manure aroma. Perhaps too watery with some adjuncts. Typical Aussie pale.

every brewery seems to be trying to make one of these nowadays - little creatures more or less. plenty of cascade in there and soft in a dull way. still, a pleasant antidote to metallic lagers

Consumed at Kiribilli hotel (under the Sydney Harbour Bridge on the north side). A good IPA with presentable hop presence. The aroma was slightly cardboardy and agreeably herbaceaous on warming. At least they are trying to brew a traditional beer.

At AIBA 2003. Nice amber body with floral hop aroma. Thick and sweet with a sour citrus finish in which some alcohol was evident. Not much real bitterness but I liked it.

I would have to agree with duff on all his points. This beer could be anyone of 100 run of the mill beers out there at the moment
