2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 alagnak (467) - Littleton, Colorado, USA - JUL 21, 2009
Draft @ brewpub. Nose of musty bread and a real faint bitterness. Taste is pretty watery, not a lot of ’bitter’ or ’special’. A little caramel malt and a hint of some bitter stone fruit. More or less drinkable, but didn’t feel the need to order another, and probably wouldn’t again.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 OldMrCrow (1419) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 12, 2008
Growler.
Pours a hazy rust-water copper, good-sized head with aggressive carbonation and decent lacing. Aroma is mild on the hops, bringing in some cookie and light apple. Pretty thin flavor, again a bit of fruit, limited hops again, really no snap, nor the rich fullness of the better British or American ESBs. On the positive side, there are few glaring flaws so if I can keep my mind off the fact that I’d rather be drinking something with flavor, this is palatable enough.

Growler poured a clear dark amber with a small amber head. Aroma is malty and fruity. Palate is medium to light body and smooth. Flavors of light carmel, fruity, with a sweet finish.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ernest (5187) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 14, 2005
Draught.
Body is hazy dark amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly hoppy (flowers, apricot), with a light note of peach.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation.
Not much to say about these brews, but they’re right around average and thus drinkable.
