COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Dunkel or dark lager is brewed in the traditional Bavarian style. With its pronounced, warm Aroma, malty taste and a finish reminiscent of fine coffee, this beer will please the senses – even for the most generic beer drinker. Don’t let the color fool you. This is not a strong or “heavy” beer. The Gunpowder Falls Dunkel is brewed with five different malt types and is lightly hopped.

12oz bottle. Small off-white head atop crystal clear copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, nut, some chocolate, roast, light earthy. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, nut, some lager yeast lemon, light roast. Light-medium body, low carbonation.

Aroma: The nose of this beer is sweet and malty, with some toffee, caramel, nuts, and bread
Appearance: It pours a mahogany color with a small beige head and some spotty lace
Flavor: This beer is quite sweet, there’s some other components too, but the sweetness overrides
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a soft-to-average carbonation, and a decent feel overall
Overall Impression: These guys must be really new and minimally distributed, as I’m now the 2nd rater of each of their beers, and the first person to rate either of their beers that’s didn’t just join and rate the same day, and then not rate anything since (which is about 45 days later as of today). Anyway, I thought this beer was OK. It’s not that exciting, but it has some nice components and a pretty decent feel.
