Bottle shared at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks mom & dad for this bottle! Hazy amber with an off-white head. Hoppy aroma, citric, slightly stale, with yeast. Flavor has some sweetish malt, a light caramel hint, citric hops and some yeast and a nice bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Bottle at Liseberg, Gothenburg. Hazy bronze with a quickly dissipating two finger white head. Aroma is fairly hoppy with pine and grass, a moderate malty tone of caramell. Taste is about the same, a fairly good grassy hop profile with zest, oranges, backed up by a light sweeter malt figure. Minerals and yeast, slight wattery. Ends rather dry, with a lingering bitterness. Medium body, soft to medium carbo. Quite good, thirst quenching.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes orangegoldenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, fruchtig, würzig. Geschmack malzig, fruchtig, leicht würzig.

0.33 l bottle at Timo A’s. Amber color. Sweet caramelly and floral aroma. Caramelly, raisiny, floral and toffeish taste, yet not sweet. Rounded palate. Plain amber ale, this is not my style.

Bottle from Kalea Bierkalender. Amber, hazy body with medium, frothy, white head, that won’t last very long. Aroma of yeast, grapefruit, hay, grass, earth, some honey, little red fruits. Taste of grapefruit, bread, grass, roasted malt, bitterness, some fruitiness. Medium to thin mouthfeel, with a medium bitter, citric and slightly earthy finish. Not bad, good to drink, but nothing special.

GoufCustom (843) - HONG KONG - JAN 9, 2014

330 ml bottle bought at Lafaco & Co’s booth at HKCEC in Wan Chai during Hong Kong Food Festival 2013.

Cloudy hazy amber honey colour with lots of dirt-like yeast sediments; One and half finger head and crumpet off-white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Excellent good sticky lacing and near zero carbonation; Fragrant sweet aroma of grapefruit and ale malt, plus faint pineapple, honey, caramel, molasses, toffee, orange and yeast; Pleasant mid to light sweet taste of ale malt, with light grapefruit, light toffee, light honey, crackers, yeast, strong pine, light liquorices, strong lemony lime and sharp grassy hops; Full body, slick and slight oily palate; Taste profile is malty, heavily-hopped Amber Ale, grapefruit pine tree and grassy hops are really dominant, almost like American micro IPAs, but tastes are not too varied. Intense but not over the top. Pretty good… Hoppiness is fragrant grapefruit and grassy nose, fruity, piney and strong grassy hop taste. Liquorices is potent, for a licking and lasting astringent finish; Quite dry after taste; Hoppy and bitter to mouth.

Comments: This is an organic Amber but smell and taste more like an American craft IPA, with Cascade and Summit are utilized with good effect. Also fairly good caramel and toffee elements here. Pretty single-minded but well-made and enjoyable all the way. More than above average and recommended!

Look: Pours with equal thick off-white 2 thumbs high foam. It’s stable, slow retention, leaves moderate lacing. Slightly cloudy, carbonation visible. Color is lighter chestnut amber. The bottle label looks terrible.

Smell: Some piney, grapefruit hop and caramel, toffee malt notes. Hints of something synthetic, earthy at start.

Taste: Mostly bitter hops. Hints of grapefruit, piney bitterness - well, mostly just this, feels empty, almost no taste in the middle from malts, maybe some light roast, sweetness. Ends with medium bitterness, which stays for a while.

Mouthfeel: Lively carbonation, nearly medium body. Easy, fresh but pointless.

Overall: An OK beer, but totally forgettable and kinda empty. Can’t say I’ll try it again. Don’t be bothered with it.
