Bottle in my Vienna Hotel. Light haze on this amber beer, big pale tan head. Light semi dry palate. A little caramel malt and tea supports reasonable pine hops. Touch of citrus also. Finishes semi dry with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Not bad.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, copper to deep amber colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Bready toast-malty aroma with caramel, peppery spice and delicately fruity hoppy notes. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Hearty toasted malt character with notes of bread crusts, caramel on a delicately fruity hoppy background; bitter-sweet toasty malty finish with a rising hops profile towards the aftertaste, containing mildly fruity and spicy notes. Heavily malty IPA, reminding me more of a dark Bock, nevertheless a likeable brew. 20.X.12

Quack-Duck (6811) - Down South, GERMANY - DEC 9, 2012
bottle from Bierzwerg. Hazy deep chestnut-amber colour, mid-sized off-white head. Malty base with caramel, lots of tropical fruits and resiny hops. The dark malt character suits the tropical fruit and resiny hops very well. Very nice.

The 33cl bottle pours with a clear deep copper body that is supporting a tan head of foam that leaves behind some spotty lacing. The aroma a mix of nearly musty barleywine like sweet malts, slightly resiny pine hops, some sweet citrus hard candy and a bit of floral. The taste is slightly aged sweet malts and pine like hops moving into snippets of grapefruit and floral like hops. It seems this is a bit aged even though it states best by August 20th 2013 on the label. Still, tastes alright.
