Gusswerk Nicobar IPA is inspired by the journeys of Austrian ships sailing from Trieste to the Nicobar Islands. They were carrying a special brew destined for the only Austrian colony in the Indian Ocean, established in the reign of Her Majesty Empress Maria Theresia of Austria. Ingredients: water, organic barley malt, organic hops (Hallertau Tradition, Simcoe, Citra, Cascade), yeast.

Found some bottles in Vienna, at Julius Meinl am Graben. A very nice, thick and creamy foam. Made with Hallertau, Simcoe, Citra & Cascade. Good ballance of the Hops. This beer is underrated here.

0,33l bottle from beerbottle.eu. Again a very decent IPA with all trademarks of this style. I am wondering if the story behind is true. A true Austrian IPA? A nice thought! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Coming from Gusswerk Microbrewery in Salzburg. Not too hoppy (for an IPA), but nice Malt-body. Very good drinkability, probably one of the best IPAs in Austria.

Bottle at barrel fever in Villach. Pours amber with nice, but quickly dissipating head. Citrus and caramel notes, with just a hint of tobacco sharpness. Mouthfeel is clean and full. Grapefruit produced from well balanced hops leaves a nice aftertaste, good bitterness. Really nice and intricate lacing. Inspired by the original Austrian take on ipa shipped to Nicobar, does not disappoint and is underrated here.

Braun mit leichtem Roteinschlag, hellbrauner Schaum mittlerer Stabilität. Leicht im antrunk, angenehm orangegelb Hopfen im Mittelteil, leicht herb im Abgang. Lecker ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 0.33 from Julius Meinl, Vienna. Red copper murky color, off-white frothy short lasting head. Strong aroma of hops and spices, some alkohol notes, red fruits. Tastes bitter, but pleasant, could be even more bitter. Full body, medium carbonation, nice aftertaste. Nothing wrong with this IPA.

Bottle from Marhun, Darmstad, bb 29.04.14
Amber color, dark, hazy, with creamy head. This IPA focuses on the caramel, mellow, rather than the hops; bitter enough, without defined hop traits, although there are some resins; the final is also malty.
Very good.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass dark orange, nice head. Wonderful hoppy-dry aroma. Starts intense hoppy, dry, some bitter notes. Fruity like grapefruit, some woody hints. Finish a bit milder, still fine dry-hoppy. Nice!
