3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle from Bierzwerg. Hazy deep golden colour, large white head, malty aroma of caramel. Full-bodied, intensive malt flavours, caramel, dark honey. Lively carbonation yet with a pleasant and smooth mouthfeel. I liked it very much.

Bottle 0,33 l from Amstein - St Légier (CH). Reddish beer with a short creamy head. Light aromas of malt, lemon, herbs. The taste is fresh, toffy, slightly roasted, acidulated with a smoke point, especially in the finale. Thirst-quenching beer, spring, average crackling, earthy ans dry notes.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Flasche 33cl.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
from Erzbierschof - pretty clear amber beer with no foam left; a meaty smokyness; subtle and moderate carbonation, medium-bodied, pretty short meaty finish with hints of flowers and caramel - quite weird

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled, 0.33l. Hazy amber color with medium frothy tan-like head, poor lacing and average visible carbonation. Aroma of caramel malt, biscuits, dried fruits and floral hops. Taste starts with moderate sweet toasted malt, followed sour yeasty and grassy with light medicinal note, while finished with medium bitterness. Medium to full body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. You can easily get stoned with it...

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
33cl bottle Maruhn. Hot stones in the mash, bio hops and malt etc. etc.: this beer might have a noble enough pedigree, but fails to make a case for the genre of Steinbier and does little tastewise to advance bio beers, either. All you get from this is dry caramelly malts, haphazard hops and fizzy water. Nothing off or disgusting, but a chore to finish. The eternal issue every Allnatura & Co has come to grips with: What use advocating "all biological" products, if taste is going to be the first casualty on your crusade?

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bit hazy, with more yeast residue in the bottle, copper and small head. Very moderate yet with a classic style Germany hops, very pale base. Light bitter, bit if clean yeast. Decent brew, good for the style for sure. (33cl bottle from Wasana’s Getränken Oase, shared with Darren on my first brew)

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
33cl bottle from the brewery. Pours a cloudy orange colored body with a finger-width, creamy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, somewhat bready caramels with a light fruity hopping and just a touch of grass. Flavor is sweeter caramels and bread with a few hints of grass and some fruits. Finishes somewhat dry and very lightly bitter before leaving a short aftertaste. Medium-light body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent beer. A bit sweet, but not overly so. Not a lot to this, but okay.
