bottle from Bierzwerg. Hazy deep golden colour, large white head, malty aroma of caramel. Full-bodied, intensive malt flavours, caramel, dark honey. Lively carbonation yet with a pleasant and smooth mouthfeel. I liked it very much.

Cloudy orange color with a white head. Retention is not really good. Aroma is of hops, some sweetness, caramel and wet soil. In mouth you can taste some caramel with a medium bitternes in the end.

Medium offwhite head. Clear amber body with strong carbonation. Caramelly earthy aroma with spicy sugary notes. Dry-sweet earthy caramelly taste with spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry earthy rye crisp bread and caramel aftertaste with papery notes. A bit old (BBD August 2012), should have had it before. (0.33l bottle, from Absinth Depot, Berlin.)

Wässriger, wenig karamelliger Antrunk. Süffig, wenig getreidig, angenehme Süße. Vor allem zum Ende etwas brotig. Mild süßes Finish mit geringem Hopfen. Nett. 7/9/8/8/9/8

11,9,8,8,-,8 - 8,47 - 6/1/13

Grima (1857) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - NOV 27, 2012
The beer in the glass is pale amber colored with flat, barely existing head. It smells malty and spicy, subtle hoppy-bitter and grainy. Starts very malty-bready, very slightly sour and yeasty in the background. The middle part is sweet and grainy, with significantly bready note and some moderate hop in the background. Goes into a bready-sweet, subtle yeasty finish, subtly bitter.

Bottle: Hazy, light amber coloured, small off-white foamy layer, dryish bready-malty nose with a tinge of sour-dough; light sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied, but at least soft; short breadymalty finish with a slight bitterness in the aftertaste. Yawn…
