3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden and opaque with foam high (typical Weissbier).
Fruity aroma: banana, clove, citrus.
Wheat flavor with noticeable bitterness and acidity perfectly balanced.
It’s a great weizen, indicated by German friends of the Bavarian region.
I highly recommend it!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at the Criterion, Leicester. Great Weisse. Nice baked bean aroma, very slightly clouded appearance. Deliciously crisp and smooth. Refreshing and full flavour. I liked this very good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (I assume?) from Cafe Abseitz in Bamberg. One of those wheat beers where you can really taste the wheat. Simple but satisfying. Finish that just gets tastier as it melts away.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml Bottle. Appearance is hazy, golden-orangish color with lots of foamy, off-white head. Aroma is bright, wheaty, and fruity. Taste is similar with fruit and wheat notes. A strong citrus and acidic flavor makes this Hefe stand out from others and is actually well-balanced and pleasant. Palate is medium-bodied, smooth texture, lively carbonation, and a acidic, semi-dry finish. This is a excellent and distinctive take on the Weizen!

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
hazy yellow colour, moderate white head; aroma of citrus, yeast with banana notes; taste of malty sweetness with citrussy-wheaty sourness and banana again; great weizen, although the aroma is not fully convincing

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours very cloudy brownish yellow, with a big off-white head. Aroma is dominated with overripe bananas, but there are notes of bubblegum and some spices too. Taste is very versatile and lively. It begins with notes of malt and bread, then some banana, and finishes with notes of yeast and slightly sour citrus. Sweetish overall impression. Quite light mouthfeel and soft carbonation. The Gutmann is a good one! (0,5 l bottle, best before 8 May 2014)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (Utobeer): Cloudy yellow with a lasting white head. Bubblegum and spice in the nose, with some lovely clove and vanilla flavours. Light yeast and grains. Very refreshing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Spectacular murky golden body topped by a large, sticky, rocky white head that lasts forever and build up all kinds of funny shapes. Pretty phenolic aroma, certainly clovey, but also medicinal. Esters come up as well in the shape of honey melon, pureed bananas and it eventually closes on earthiness where the mildest cinnamon notes appear. This is already quite original, but its most fascinating feature has to be the mouthfeel that is very dry for a weizen first of all, but also enormously full-bodied. It immediately expands into a thick, chewy meringue foam in mouth. Unique texture, full on wheaty breadiness. Perhaps not the liveliest, nor the tastiest, but this is a very original weizen in many ways and gets my respect despite being so unclean.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Big fan of this beer used in Cola-weizen in a weizen glass, but alone it is decent at best. One is punched in the mouth with a rich earthy taste, but not overwhelmed with flavor. A faint taste of carmel is present. Never drink from the bottle.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a nice, hazy well-carbonating yellowish golden with nice, lasting white head. Banana and cloves in the aroma, with focus on the banana. Pleasant citrusy aroma too. Both orange and lemon. Quite sweet on the palate, with a little sourish note and some bitterness.Flavors of orange, lemon and banana have company of some cloves. The finish is much the same as the initial flavor. The beer is a bit sticky in the mouth, but a refreshing, quenching and well-tasting hefeweizen. (080728)
