COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A still medium cider available in 750 ml bottles and occasionally on draught.
NB: Gwatkin sometimes produces draught versions that differ significantly from the bottled. If you rate a draught version please specify that and include details of the ABV and designated sweetness level (if provided).

The Norman Cider apple, as the name suggests, was imported from Normandy in France. There are half a dozen varieties of the same name, which vary in size and shape, but many of them share the same flavour. The trees are commonly found in Herefordshire and the bordering counties, as well as in the South of England. The apple is popular with traditional cider makers because the juice ferments quickly, producing pleasant, medium cider.

750ml bottle. Deep, clear gold in colour with no carbonation. Slightlydry, apple fruit aroma with a hint of acidity and wood. Flavour was sweet and reminded me of French style ciders, although the finish was a lot drier and slightly tart. Very good.

Bottle. Hazy gold with a low carbonation. Aromas are earthy, ripe apple with sulphur and grape skin. Musty vinegar with hints of caramel. Flavours are sweet apple with ripe pear. Barnyard with cheese and tart citrus and vinegar. Rum and oak barrel with floral notes. Peppery and dry to finish.

Bottle 750ml. @ UK-SCO Tasting in Ulfborg.

Clear medium orange color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate to heavy apple, tart apple, sweet apple. Flavor is light heavy sweet and moderate acidic with a long duration, very good and strong apple flavor. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. Very tasty ;O) [20110409]

2010-07-31. Bright pee yellow colour. Very dry flavour, tart, puckeringly so, hints at lemon, bit of tart apple. Very musty aroma, bit of barnyard, hay, sweaty notes. Average to light palate. Did not quite work for me today. Would try it again though. Cask at Middle Farm, Lewes

A Mes rate. Cask at the Southampton.
Hazy yellow brown with a rim of bubbles around the edge. Excellent Strawberry Norman aroma. Creamy and sweet yet dry and dusky at the same time. Really sniffable. Just as brilliant in the flavour. Lightly sweet, delicate dryness, superb fruity and puckery strawberry aceented apples. Effortless to drink but weighty enough for me to be feeling the effects. Hints of leather and tannin, great sweet stroke sour balance. Soooooooo fruity in the aftertaste. Ace.

Bag in a box at 2nd Thanet Cider and Perry festival, Churchill Tavern, Ramsgate. I love ciders that make your shudder, great funk, plastic, tannin, medicinal TCP. Good. Love the band aid
