COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A still medium cider available in 500ml bottles and on draught.
NB: Gwatkin sometimes produces draught versions that differ significantly. If you rate a draught version please specify that and include details of the ABV and designated sweetness level (if provided).

Smooth and rich with a spirit aroma and taste that resonates with the taste buds to surprise and delight. Would be an excellent substitute for a dessert wine. The Yarlington Mill apple is a favourite with traditional cider makers because if its outstanding taste. It originates from deepest Somerset but is found growing throughout the cider makers kingdom. The well sized apples, which are red and yellow in colour, are ready to harvest in late November. The juice is slow to ferment, which produces a rich, red, medium cider.

500ml bottle. Orangey amber colour, foam white head that diminishes and aroma of apple, woody, oak, sawdust, vinegar, barnyard. Taste is sweet fruity apple, sourish wood, oaky, peaty smokey, barnyard, bittersweet and some tannin. Slightly oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tannic finish. Very drinkable.

Bottled, 500ml, magically appearing over the Christmas period, nobody owning up to buying it!. Brownish gold with no head. Apple cider aroma and yes, in the flavour too. Sweetish but also a light tartness. Apple flesh. It’s a reasonable cider.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. Clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is sour apples, vinegar and barnyard. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate acidic. Dry and moderate acidic finish. Really nice. 010114

500ml bottle from Gwatkin. Much the same as all other Gwatkin ciders.. WAY too sweet & sickly, like undiluted cordial. As such it’s almost impossible to detect the true Yarlington Mill flavour and tastes genuinely unhealthy to drink. Unbelievable that this is actually on sale to the public.

A clear 0.5l bottle. It has a really good color this one. Dark warm amber - almost a bit red/brown in the glass, light blurry and it has to no surprise a quickly lived small bubbly fizzing cider head. The nose has a good sweetness of sweet red apples, cellar, some clear wood, a good amount of what I like to call paint thinner and a little bit or pear. Oh my it has lots of flavor, that’s for sure. Quite sweet but not cloying. The wood is playing the main role here. Really, and then I mean really wood infected with a good amount of dusky cellar as well. The alcohol is quite present, but it really needs that little kick to balance all that sweetness and wood flavor. Quite interesting, and I’m actually enjoying this more and more. Have to get used to that intense apply wood flavor, but after a few bottles you hardly even notice it anymore. 10.09.2013

Poured a medium amber with a frothy white head. Aroma of zesty oaked apples. Medium body, flavour of woody apple, fairly dry and astringent.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber-coppery body with loads of visible carbonation. Nice looks. Nose is instant whiffs of alcohol-fueled dry cider yeast tones, so dry and sour that they remind me a little of a Flanders red with some years on it - the whole "paint thinner" thing... Apple must and hints of wood and straw in the back. Taste is more apple must, with hints of wood and tart acidic tones lingering with some alcohol and paint thinner in the back. Sweet, yet dry finish, almost parching to the mouth. A very special cider; don’t think I’ve had anything quite like this before. Still not too sure how much I like it, but it certainly is original.

Smakt på St. Lars. Ravgul farge. Voks aktig duft og Calvados fat. Smaken er først søtlig men endrer seg til surt, og ettersmaken er litt eddik aktig og pepper. De som elsker hippie jus kommer til å digge dette.

500 ml clear bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 7%. Clear deep golden to amber colour. No sediment in the bottle. Pours with a slight carbonation and a low and short-lived white head. Lovely aroma of cider apples, hints of sulphites and oak. Only the slightest carbonation in the mouth. Medium sweet flavour, notes of cider apples and sweet eating apples, apparently this is from one single apple variety. Oaky finish with a hint of smoke, a bit too much sulphites.
