Commercial Description:
The Yarlington Mill apple originates from deepest Somerset but is now found growing in many cider orchards. The well sized red and yellow apples are ready to harvest in late November. The juice is slow to ferment which produces a rich red medium cider

Bottle. No visible head or lacework. Colour was light cloudy pale golden. Very dusty and barnyard like in the aroma. Some fresh fruit and hay are also apparent. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Flavour was well balanced between the acidic and sweet notes. Finish was properly the most dry experience that I have ever had with a cider. Some sweetness was also present in the finishing touch of this great cider. Well done!

A Mes rate: Boxed stillage @ Planet Thanet. The cider section here was excellent it must be said. This was another cracker. Dark golden colour. Plenty of vintage character. Slight sweetness in a maple syrup type way. Great palate. Very enjoyable cider.

Barrel, Notts Beer Fest 2005. As damn fine as the Gwatkin perry I’d just tried; almost toffee-apple with its sticky sweetness, deep bodied, almost chewy but still the right side of tasty. Who needs beer when you’ve got ciders as good as this ;-)

Dark golden with quite a promising sour, vinegary aroma. The taste, however, is excessively sweet and sticky, and this is the reason that this cider fails for me: there is only the slightest sourness and dryness. The sugary aftertaste is close to being unpleasant.

500 ml bottle courtesy of geth in beer. Thanks very much. Softer fruitier aroma than the Trembletts I had alongside it. Deeper copper colour. Very cloudy. Fairly acidic, malic aroma. Sweet appley fruit, light apple and a touch of tannic aroma. Ncie wild character, dusty and musty. Flavour is quite lovely, soft and sweet, with a bit of clove and allspice notes sneaking in over the baked apple notes as well. Strong assertive tannic dryness. A bit fuller bodied than the Tremblett’s but the flavour is just slightly less appealing. Still, a tasty cider.

This is a great cider. Aroma is sour cooking apples with some nutmeg/cinammon going on. Taste is similar, with a wee hint of sweetness to make it very very drinkable.

Bottle conditioned. Hazy orange colour. Aroma is cider and apples (quel suprise), taste is very nice; sweet, caramel, quite dry - I’m shocked I like this so much - great mouthfeel. Excellent.
