JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Sep 18, 2006 500 ml bottle courtesy of geth in beer. Thanks very much. Softer fruitier aroma than the Trembletts I had alongside it. Deeper copper colour. Very cloudy. Fairly acidic, malic aroma. Sweet appley fruit, light apple and a touch of tannic aroma. Ncie wild character, dusty and musty. Flavour is quite lovely, soft and sweet, with a bit of clove and allspice notes sneaking in over the baked apple notes as well. Strong assertive tannic dryness. A bit fuller bodied than the Tremblett’s but the flavour is just slightly less appealing. Still, a tasty cider.
yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Sep 29, 2009 Bottle, at Cardinal. A clear, golden cider with a diminishing white head. Some alcohol in the aroma, but mostly apple cores. Apples, apple cores and some orchard in the flavor, tart and astringent. Dry finish. Medium to full body. A quite nice cider with a pleasant warmth. Smooth in a way, and quite easy to drink. 090728 Geokkjer (256), Kristiansand, Norway Sep 22, 2009 500 ml bottle @ Cardinal pub.Pours golden with no head.Aroma is sweet apple with some honey notes. Some spicy brettish funk.
Sweet apple flavor ,nicely balanced with the sourness.Nice cider. Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 8, 2009 500 ml bottle. Clear golden with a small and diminishing white head. Refreshing aroma of sour apple. Flavor is rather mild balanced between sweet/sour apple, but no doubt a true cider. The apple flavor is dominating and it is easy drinkable, but a prefer a bit more edge similar to Golden Valley from same producer. Could be the apples or maybe the oak? Anyway a nice, plain and real cider. downender (2537), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England May 23, 2009 Bottle from Tanners, Hereford. Amber in colour with slight carbonation. Aroma of dry apples, vinegar and a touch of green herbs. Flavour began sweet, with juicy apple fruit, followed by a fresh blast of the English countryside/market gardens - ransoms, spring onions, herbs. Finish inclined towards sweetness, but overall a cider full of character. hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 16, 2009 Cask... Murky amber cider with no head. Subtle aromas of apple, leather and distant smoke. Full-bodied and coarse with only a rumor of carbonation. Very sweet; red and yellow apple blend. Lengthy, lightly sweet finish that dries out entirely.
Fin (3382), Merton, Oxfordshire, England May 10, 2009 Polycask at Banbury Beer Festival, Oxon, 08-05-09 Pours gold some haze, really juicy and more of a medium sweet than medium. Wonderfully full on sweet appley goodness, very tasty and I can see why this was voted UK champion cider at Reading last weekend as it will appeal to many. A7 A3 F7 P4 Ov 3.5 GodOfThunder (855), Orlando, Florida, USA May 4, 2009 Flavors are musty, tart and vinegary. I’m not a big fan of this one. Dry finish. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA May 3, 2009 Cask @ Redlight. Dark apple copper pour. Aroma is apple sour cherry. Taste is tart apple, hints of cherry and musty. Very easy drinking cider, this has a bit more body than the other Gwatkins I have tried.
