COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Draught and Bottled - Medium/Medium Dry cider.
Made from a single variety of cider apple, Dabinett is a full bittersweet apple found in large quantities throughout many Welsh orchards.
This apple produces a well-balanced bittersweet cider with a soft astringency and full body.
A connoisseur’s cider that lends itself to the ‘New Age’ cider drinker

Bottle, English rating #200. Pours a golden orange with a faint, white head. Aroma is fairly sweet with apple, sugar, brown sugar, molasses, light rum and light earthiness, horse blanket. Taste is semisweet, appley sugariness, turns sweeter on the finish, pear. Fairly full, light carbonation. A pretty nice quaffer.

500ml bottle from Beerritz online shop. Clear golden yellow colour, foam white head that diminishes and aroma of tart apple, apple skin. Taste is tangy apple, light woody, bittersweet, with a good balance of acidity and dry tannins. Medium bodied, low to medium carbonation, dry tannic finish. Quite drinkable.

Pleasant appley nose as expected and pours quite pale and clear. Not sweet, and also not very crisp. Flavours seemed a bit muted.

Bottle at home. Clear light golden color, small white head disappears quickly. Aroma is earthy, sweet apples, some stables. Balanced apple taste, sweet and sour notes, small hint of alcohol but not disturbing.

pale golden color. No head whatsoever, the mouth is totally flat with a body slight heavier than apple juice. I am not sure if the cidery intended for the cider to have no carbonation, but certainly it is a disservice to the cider. Lifeless and rather uninteresting.

500 ml bottle. Clear golden colour, tiny head. Sweetish, earthy apple aroma. Flavour of sweetish overripe apple, with some earthy, tart notes in the finish. Quite good.

Bottled. Hazy golden. Aroma of ripe, red sweet apples. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeek and medium body. Some earth and slightsmoke, clean red apple flavour. Some apple skin bitterness. Too sweet to be my favourite cider from Gwynt y Ddraig .

500 ml bottle.
Pours a clear golden colour without a head. Aroma of green apples, earth and fern. Flavour is very weird green apples, strong and pungent smoked wood, herbs and lemon. Light bodied, slick mouthfeel and a dry woody finish. The smoked notes do not fit in at all.

500ml bottle. Pours a pleasant clear, dark gold, with long-lasting trailing bubbles. The aroma is a blend of mild hard cheese (something like Emmenthal or Edam), leather, apple skin and a touch of smoke, and is one of the more complex cider aromas I have encountered for some time. An initial smooth sweetness offers apple skin and mild honey notes, which are followed by a slightly more tart body, with plenty of bittersweet fruit. A slightly musty cheese flavour leads into a smooth and fruity finish. It has been a long time since I have had a proper cider, and this really does serve to remind me of the difference between a real West Country (or in this case, Welsh) cider and the sort of blandly sweet commercial cider that proliferates these days. This cider, it must be said, happens to be a very good example: a complex, rewarding drink that is so much more than fruit and sugar. Great stuff.
