Have you ever heard someone talk about old fashioned cloudy scrumpy? …one taste of ours and all will be revealed. Our Cloudy Scrumpy is a medum dry cider with a fresh apple aroma, it can be enjoyed by itself or is simply perfect with some bread and cheese.

I always find it hard to rate ciders and the subtle nuances are lost on me. Pours cloudy and slightly spritzy. Little thin on the palate, but what is there does tend to linger.

500 ml bottle. L3717. BBE Sep/15. (Alko) Tampere, Finland.
Cloudy orange golden colour with a tiny white head. Juicy apple juice, apple sauce and some sweetness in a quite fresh aroma. The flavour is a bit milder with apples, sweetness and some mild acidity. A bit watery. Still quite nice Cider.

Bottle 50cl from Jan, a cloudy copper orange cider with some head. Nose is on old apple, over ripped apples. Aroma sweet with old apple touch, apple juice notes, bit of apple skin touch, acid, finish is on old apple too.

500ml bottle from Gywnt Y Ddraig. Very tasty stuff here, with a sweet, over-ripe apple taste and gorgeously juicy apple bite. Has a dusty barnyard feel in parts and has a more rounded, less harsh taste than traditional scrumpy which is not bad thing in my book.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy (just what the ad said!) dark-hued yellow body with loads of visible bubbles. Nose is sweet yellow apples, apple peel, dense apple must and hints of wood and wet grass in the back. Taste is sweet yellow and red apples, tart green apple peel tones, mellow apple juice and hints of wet grass and sawdust far in the back. Mouthfeel is surprisingly full compared to many other ciders and this really doesn’t come off as very dry, but rather refreshingly sweet, fruity and full of flavor. Perhaps the best English cider I’ve had, more should be like this. Cloudy is good. :-)

0.5l bottle. Yeah, it’s quite cloudy and unfiltered this. Ginger orange in color and it had a small bright white head as I poured it, but that has developed in to a thin sidesticking film. The aroma actually fills the room with a cellar, slightly musky and dry apply aroma. When holding that glass up to the nose it feels really sweet. Hope it doesn’t taste as sweet as it smells. It doesn’t. Really soft on the carbonation and the mouthfeel is light and almost watery. The apples are quire tasty, reminds me of dessert apples. Overall it the taste is somewhat thin and watery. Semi dry is really describing on this. In the finish there are traces of both white sugs and tart apple zest. Quite light drinkable, but no great cider in my opinion. 27.03.2013

500 ml bottle. Slightly hazy golden body with a small white head. Aroma is matured apples with some cellar notes. Flavor is sweeter than expected for a scrumpy, but still pretty dry. Matured apples, some acidity and slightly cellar’ish. Fine body and more dry in aftertaste. A very pleasant and easy drinkable cider.
