Bottle 300 yen from Aeon Liquors. Haacht Brewery’s Mystic Cherry is a 3.5% beer made with cherry juice and pours a deep red with a pink head of foam with surprising staying power & nice lacing. The nose is sweet fruity cherry all the way - kind of like grenadine or those syrupy canned cherries. The taste is very sweet and sugary cherry delicious but verging on cloyingly sweet. I think it is best served with something to counter-balance that sweetness like bitter dark chocolate or creamy cheesecake. Hell, I think this would blend well with a nice chocolatey stout... I’ll have to try that sometime... Rogue Chocolate Stout on cherries... hmm...

Bottle. Red colour, white/pink foam. Medium carbonation. Artificial sweet syrupy beer. Some hints of sweet cherries but too much sweeteners and sugar. Not good at all.

Bottle. Pours clear red with a medium pink head. Aroma of big sweet candied cherries, light wood and a hint of carrier bag. Flavor is heavy sweet with a slightly thick cherry cordial and almond palate. Light bodied with light moderate carbonation.

On tap, 25cL. @La P’tite Mousse, Parthenay, France. A sparkling red garnet with a large creamy pinkish head. Great retention and gorgeous lacing. Aroma of red berries (raspberry??), and something a bit artificial. Medium sweet, refreshing (light). Light body, thin sticky texture, medium carbonation, short sweet finish. Overall, great appearance, pleasant aroma, light taste, light refreshing, but that’s all I needed that afternoon.

Another witbier-based fruit beer, with light pink head and deep ruby red colour. Very sweet, artificial cherry jam, juice and extracts with loads of sugar and lemonade-like ascorbic acid, cloying and one-dimensional with only a vague presence of sourish wheat. Boring and sickly sweet.

Niet veel speciaals aan, dan zijn er betere kriekenbieren dan dit op de markt te vinden.

Bottle from the Bottle Shop, Brugge. Aroma is of cherry drops, slightly perfumed. Taste is very sweet, but refreshing. It’s not brilliant but it has a purpose.

Nice color of jelly in the cherry, short pinkish foam. Fruity aromas of cherry, jam, acidulity pointed.
