2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pale gold, froths up some white head that quickly dissapates and lots of bubbles. Smell is skunky with sweet malts, grass and some hops. Taste is on the watery side - slightly sweet, some flavour of malts and hops. Comes across thin with minor bitterness. Booooring. These beers are sooo boooring....but drinkable. Very forgetable. Claims that it is made in Melbourne, Australia.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of sweet malts and slightly of hops. Flavor is sweet malts and slight bitter hops. Thin body, drinkable, but easily forgetable.

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Botte. Best looking pale lager I have seen to date-darkish yellow with a thin lasting head. Nose-skunk, smoke, must, and burnt plastic. Taste-corn flakes, dust, skunk, corn, honey, plastic. Leaves one of the worst aftertastes that I have ever encountered-it is like licking a honey coated ashtray. This beer is awful. Too many flaws to list. This is one of the worst beers I have evr had. Ever.

1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Ok lets get this over with.
330ml green bottle has 5.3% alc.
Not that bad in appearance golden with a large thick slightly off white head.
The aroma is awful though, dirty drain water , chemical like fumes, this should not be skunked I broke open a case of 4 six packs to get it.
The taste thankfully is better than the stink, though not good ..just plain watery malts with barely a lick of hop, very slightly bitter.
Pretty slick but not pleasing on the palate.
Overall not a good beer at all, but far from the worst I have endured.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Yellow body with a decent size white head. Weird smell, skunky. Tastes like a lot of lagers that come in the green bottle. Thin and little flavour.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
German-style ípremium lagerí made in New Zealand from imported malts and hops. About the only thing to be said in its favour is itís cheaper than the imports it mimics. It poured a bright gold colour with a thin blink-and-you-miss-it head. Some peculiar peachy notes in the hoppy aroma. It has a thin malty body and a wispy bitter finish. The middle is dominated by sweet malts. It would make a passable session lager I suppose but you can do far better in NZ. (Bottle)

What do they mean by Australia's original beer? Poor quality lager from a no-name brewer
Earlier Rating: 8/25/2003 Total Score: 1.5
Looks like this stuff is the Kiwi's answer to our generic Germans. It is really a nonentity, all of the hallmarks of a good beer description could be used with the words 'no' or 'not' in front of them. Interesting to see that our only Anzac from across the ditch lives in an interesting place. It seems it is asking a question- Why puke you're Aussie. The answer is coz I'm drunkin thus.

Some minute floaties in a clear golden pour with little head. Burnt sweet malt aroma. Way too sweet in flavor. Definate honey character. Finish is a "honey coated ashtray", to quote the previous rater. Seriously not recommended.

Cold, yellow, mostly odourless. It was touching 30 degrees in the shade when I knocked the top off and so it barely touched the sides. In this respect this beer was ideal but the flavour was barely there to be noticed. Brewed from only the finest natural ingredients? Well it must have gone wrong somewhere along the line.
