Cloudy copper with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of honey and citrus with a herbal note. Sweet malty flavour with fruit, honey and a touch of smoke. A bit cloying.

Bottle. Virtually no head. Body is cloudy dark brown, unfiltered. Aroma is moderately malty (molasses, caramel), with strong notes of peat smoke / Islay malt Scotch and incense, lighter note of manure. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, syrupy texture, soft/flat carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Well, not as good as hoped...the aroma is rather one-dimensional...the peat smoke strongly dominates, with a weird (but uncanny) incense note riding tandem (sandalwood?). And I like incense, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not really an odor that makes me salivate or want to eat/drink something. Nearly flat carbonation doesn’t work well with the syrupy sweet body. Overall it’s unusual but honestly it’s just not very enjoyable. Quite a disappointment considering the two brewers involved.

50cl, new exclusive Norwegian collab. brew Anno 2012, with honey, lingonberries and juniper, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex brew, malty/spicy and slightly smoked/sweet, not too heavy, yet not balanced, cloudy, nearly no head, nice brew, yet expensive

On tap at Borefts. Clear amber pour, light lace and head. Notes of berries(juniper), honey, wood, spice, peat, sweet malts, smoked grains grass, Very sticky palate from all the bee nectar in the beer. I liked the prescence of the berries to help restrain the smoke.

abemorsten (3378) - Mosterøy, NORWAY - OCT 7, 2012
On tap from the Närke booth at Borefts Beer Festival 2012. Clear deep mahogany body with a fingerthick creamy light brown head leaving excellent lacings. Smokey honey and maple syrup on the nose. Smoke, honey sweet in the mouth. Smooth and full bodied leaving a dry mouth and flavors that endure.

Tap @ Borefts 2012. The honey is dominant is the slightly spicy aroma. Honeyish sweet flavor with soft spicy notes. Sticky mouthfeel, because of the honey.

Black colour, off-white head. Aroma of smoke, berries, ketjap, sweet indonesian soy sauce. green branches, only light juniper. Quite sweet flavour, sweet malts, ketjap. Finish honey, malts, ketjap, juniper and some strange spiciness.
Quite strange. Not bad, just strange and interesting.
