3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Deep brown/black body. Creamy, tan head. Aroma of wood, smoke tobacco, roasted malts, chocolate, moss. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Green wood, tart taste along with chocolate, raspberry and citrus. Fairly boozy in the finish. Different and interesting and I enjoyed the first six ounces, but it got tiring after that.

Pours pitch black with a coffee tinge for the head. Has a very different smell, hints of coffee and the smell of akevitt. Mellow on the palate at first, followed by coffee a hint of sweetness. Really warms on the aftertaste. A very decent porter.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared with northropfrye. Pours with a cocoa coloured head. Deep dark brown opaque body. Notes of molasses in the aroma. The aquavit barrels have done this beer no favours in my opinion, but I still liked it.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The aquavit in here actually works quite well, it’s subtle, and you still get a robust coffee/dark chocolate porter taste going on here. Dark brown/black colour with brown head, not a tonne of lacing. Aroma is bready. Taste is sweet malts, molasses, brown sugar, dark chocolate, nice bitter aftertaste. Very nice.

500 ml bottle. A gusher - I was wondering if there would be anything left.. Pours and opaque brown with of course a huge head. Aromas of meat, chocolate, and heavily roasted malts. Flavors of light smoke, leather, and burnt malts, with a slick lingering after taste. Full bodied, oily, and hot.
