Strong coffee aroma, as well as taste. Very dark, almost soy saucy appearance. Medium body. Quite possibly the best coffee porter I’ve tasted

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
500ml bottle. Pours an opaque black, with a smallish beige head, which lasts fairly well and leaves decent lacing. There are some roasty malt notes and an odd, almost milk-like whiff in the aroma, but it is dominated not so much by coffee as cold coffee grounds, which is not entirely pleasant. Very faint bitter herbal hops lead into a touch of nutty malt, but again coffee grounds dominate, giving the beer the feel of a coffee that has been left to go cold. This cold coffee flavour leaves a persistent and slightly unpleasant aftertaste. This beer is quite a disappointment; the first really missable Haandbryggeriet beer I have tried.

Coffee Porter Bottle. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of soft roasted chocolate malt, cocoa, fresh coffee beans, sweet malt, coffee creamer and soft sugar. Nose has some slight vegetal qualities to it. Very much like a cold cup of coffee with a drop of creamer. Medium body.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Certainly smells like cold coffee, looks like cold coffee with the exception of the large frothy beige head and nice lacing.   Tastes like cold coffee with lots of cream and sugar.   Soft roastiness, sweet coffee bean, sugar, creamer.... yeah, its like an iced coffee except with more roasted maltiness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Slightly ashy, otherwise very much like heavy sugar and creamer on coffee.   Funny, his is how I used to have my coffee all the time.   Good stuff, even if the Porter aspect seems to take a backseat to the bean.
