3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ home picked up at Wilbur’s Foco. Pours a black appearance and a creamy brown head. Very rich, roasty coffee aroma with nice acidic fruity notes in addition to dark chocolate, vanilla, and a shit load of roastiness. Creamy, milky, rich burnt coffee, vanilla, milk chocolate flavor. Tastes a bit thin but overall pretty tasty.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml. bottle. Pours an enormous well retained, beige head, over a brown black (SRM 35) body......nose is coffee, cocoa, with dusty tones, hints of toffee/caramel.....taste is light coffee, chocolate, light toffee/caramel, with dried fruit (raisin, fig) sweetness, finishing with light bitterness, with hints of green pepper......mouth feel medium, carbonation low. This is a pleasant beer. It has a high ABV for a Brown Porter, does not have the hop bitterness of a Robust Porter, and is somewhat sweet. This leaves a Baltic Porter for the style, which it meets quite well. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Deep, dark brown in color with a rather large and tightly packed khaki head. Looks pretty nice. Sweet aroma with chocolate, toffee, some light roast coffee. Pretty nice, but this is a bit sweeter than I’d like. Taste is chocolate, some raisins, dark cherries, and maybe a touch of coffee. Not what I was expecting from this beer. A bit thin bodied, but otherwise this is okay. I feel my tastes have changed quite a bit over the last couple of years. Dark beers were something that I loved, but lately I’ve been struggling to finish even small amounts of them.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml bottle @ Pub Kultainen Apina, Tampere.
Pours a murky brown colour with an orange hue and no head at all. Aroma of strong roasted malts, dark coffee, pepper and vegetables. Flavour of roasted malts, milk, smooth roasted coffee, mild hops and some sweet raisins. Unfortunately some vegetable notes from the coffee beans but not as strong as expected. Medium bodied, silky oily mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Finishes very smooth, mellow and roasty. Coffee isn’t too aggressive here, but this could use a heavier body.

Aroma has lots of mocha, some licorice, jalopeno-llike vegetables and nettles, Flavour has mocha, some licorice and dark chocolate. Some jalopenos and hints of nettles in the finish. Palate is a bit watery, perhaps the 6% is not enough.
