3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours brown and murky small tan head. Nose is green apples. Slightly oxidized. Some coffee as well but it is overwhelmed by the sour. This may be a bad bottle. Taste isn’t sour but the coffee is not coming through. Instead of some expected bitterness I am getting some over sweet taste. Crisp and bubbly on the palate. I need to review this again because I have had it before and I remember it being better.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml bottle from Cranbury BuyRite. Poured a good looking opaque black body with a large foamy deep beige head. Aroma is great, sugary black coffee with a hint of milk. Medium bodied with very lively carbonation and a slight hint of creaminess. Flavor is far sweeter then the aroma and rather sugary like someone added coffee to sugar, burnt toast. Decent but too sweet.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark malt, coffee and a hint of grain in aroma. The flavor is malty with a strong dose of coffee in it, along with a decent chocolate flavor note. Not a coffee fan but can definitely appreciate this porter, it was very good.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Lion’s Pride. I love a beer that not only tastes great, but really ignites my senses the way that Coast Rica does. Jet black in appearance with aromas of coffee and slight caramel. Very, very smooth, with coffee being at the forefront, but made a little funky with some pepper notes and a little bit of oak. Good oily mouthfeel, finishes dry.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared by portableparty! Dark coffee balck pour, thin carbonation and an aroma of stale coffee. Flavor is cold pressed coffee, green pepper and finished thin on the body. Not one of their best beers.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a dark brown black with a soapy khaki head that fades to a foamy film. Aroma is green pepper coffee with nothing else. Taste is coffee and green peppers with some sort of heat in the finish. Palate is thin and chalky with a spicy dry finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours black with a small head. Intense aroma of freshly grounded coffee followed by roasted malt. A delicious coffee beer with taste of freshly made coffee, a bit sweet, but not too much.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nice dark brown pour with a fluffy beige head. Aroma was coffee and a decent roasted malt kick. Flavors were coffee ridden and roasty. Mouthfeel was medium, almost creamy and smooth, carbonation light. Although this was very straightforward it was well executed. Nicely done.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ Vinens Verden, Odense. Pours black with a small creamy head and lacings. Lovely roasted coffee malts and chocolate. Dry, smooth and bitter. Really tasty coffee profile! Straight forwarded, simple and delicious! A bit of pepper as it warms. Reminds me of De Molen Kopi Loewak only with a smoother and more pleasant carbonation level. Dopeness.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a deep, opaque sable just a couple red tomcat whiskers above black with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled tan head. Aroma has notes of semi-sweet chocolate and coffee and hints of caramel and molasses. Coffee flavor has chocolate and caramel tones and is a little sweet, but not too sweet. Body is fairly thick and heavy, but fizz is minimal. Overall, a darned good porter, which I recommend to all porter and coffee beer lovers.
