500 ml bottle. Pours a brown/black with medium tan head. Aromas of chocolate and smoke. Flavors of black coffee, oily dark fruit, roasted malts, and light smoke. Quite a bit of carbonation. Cola like.

Borresteijn (5170) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - FEB 8, 2013
50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. ABV 6.5%. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of mild coffee, caramel, molasses, hard roasted malts, light fruity. Flavour is molasses, but not very sweet, mild coffee, roasted malts, some chocolate, light fruity and light bitter creamy coffee finish. Light-bodied, soft carbonation. Nice and mellow coffee porter.

.5l bottle @ Vihreä Haltiatar Pours deep dark brown with low head. Aroma is cocoa and coffee. Some mud cake. Hint of smoke. Flavor is smoke, coffee, chocolate and burned malts. Swell!

Rastacouere (6153) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 4, 2013
Sludgey medium brown pour, relatively pale for a beer whose aromatic rang mostly focuses on roast. Coffee beans, smooth, dry, gently powdery dominate the landscape in which a soft toastiness bears limited sweetness to it, but ventures into roasted nuts and subdued caramel nuances. Little fruitiness involved here, we’re remaining focused on cereals and various degrees of roastiness. Fairly tasty in the genre, having a smooth creaminess that may remind of a chocolate milk shake with a vanilla twist - yet again, the roast and engaging carbonation attenuate any sweet notions nicely, making for a very drinkable dessert if you will. The alcohol is nowhere to be found despite the mouthfeel letting one expect a stronger brew. Round and filling texture without the frequent Haandbryggeriet extravagant carbonation. Good stuff, not really out of the beaten path, but feeling unique in the coimbination of little off-road detours it takes to go there.

Botella. Black colour, huge light brown creamy stady very nice head. Good lacing. Lovely aroma of roastred malt and coffee along with chocolate. Good filling mouthfeel. Pleasant flavour indeed: lots of roasted malt, good coffee, sweet, good chocolate, nice bitterness. Great porter!

50 cl bottle from Eggedal Borgerstue. Pours black with a one finger brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted, coffee notes, dark chocolate and dark fruity notes. The taste is rather sweet, low bitterness, light sourness. The finish has an long lasting espresso bitterness. Quite special porter this one, but very complex and nice.

Bottle batch 513. Black with a thick nicely lacing khaki head. Aroma is roasted dark malt, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, bubblegum. Taste is medium+ sweet with some light roasted bitterness, medium+ body. Oily texture, average carbonation. Long finish with roasted malt and coffee. Dominated by coffee of course, but still a very nice porter overall.

Bouteille de 500ml. Brassée le 3.02.2012 et provenant de la batch 442. Version à 6,5% alc. Bière brune foncée avec un rond de mousse beige. Les effluves de café sont bien présents sous les narines. Il y a aussi de la cendre, de la mélasse et une agréable odeur de vanille. En bouche le liquide est un peu mince, le café et le chocolat se mêlent à perfection pour en faire une de meilleure bière du catalogue de Haand. 6/10

SlovakSniper (3625) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 27, 2013
Une bouteille de 50 cl qui provient de la batch 442. Une bière brassée le 3 février 2012. Costa Rica présente une robe brune aux contours pourpres. Un col mousseux de petite épaisseur se fait bien voir. Au nez, un liquide qui propose des parfums intéressants de café qui s’accompagnent d’une légère fumée de torréfaction. Des arômes de chocolat vanillé et de caramel se font aussi découvrir. Tout compte fait, un profil olfactif cohésif et invitant. Le goût ne déçoit pas mes papilles. Les notes de café sont indéniablement savoureuses tandis que les saveurs de chocolat au lait et de caramel sont simplement efficaces. En bouche, le liquide montre un corps de moyenne densité avec un pétillement modéré et une texture crémeuse à souhait. En finale, on retrouve un bon effet chocolaté et un effet d’amertume qui provient sans doute de la combinaison des notes de café avec les houblons utilisés.

500mL bottle, pours black with a tiny tan head. Aroma of subtle coffee, toasted nuts and some sweetness. Flavour brings out kind of old French press coffee, with some moderate sweetness level - not much else to it. Light-bodied, with a flavour profile that sort of dies quickly. Not to most robust or intriguing porter, but it’s still drinkable. Decent.
