3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sludgey medium brown pour, relatively pale for a beer whose aromatic rang mostly focuses on roast. Coffee beans, smooth, dry, gently powdery dominate the landscape in which a soft toastiness bears limited sweetness to it, but ventures into roasted nuts and subdued caramel nuances. Little fruitiness involved here, we’re remaining focused on cereals and various degrees of roastiness. Fairly tasty in the genre, having a smooth creaminess that may remind of a chocolate milk shake with a vanilla twist - yet again, the roast and engaging carbonation attenuate any sweet notions nicely, making for a very drinkable dessert if you will. The alcohol is nowhere to be found despite the mouthfeel letting one expect a stronger brew. Round and filling texture without the frequent Haandbryggeriet extravagant carbonation. Good stuff, not really out of the beaten path, but feeling unique in the coimbination of little off-road detours it takes to go there.

500 ml bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours hazy very dark brown color with a 2 finger dense and rocky tan head with great retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toast, brown bread, light nuttiness, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and coffee notes; with good strength. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toast, brown bread, light nuttiness, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toast, brown bread, light nuttiness, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and coffee flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/silky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice coffee porter. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and coffee flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours a thin brownish white head, low carbonation and black opaque body. Nose of coffe, vanilla and red wine. Very tasty... Sweet cocoa powder, roasted malts and a lasting vanilla soda finish. Good.

Aroma is intense deep rich malts. Licorice, chocolate, mocha, vanilla, raisin, fig an earthiness and light fragrant hops. Taste is a rich malts with an almost chewy mouthfeel. Caramel, toffee, and sweet roasty malts and molasses. Deep until the end with a light subtle bitterness on the tip. 3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Slightly harsh coffee nose, some oxidation (sold online well after its best-by date), and brown sugar. Thin dark brown color. Dark roast, dark sugar, small fruity tang, and coffee in finish -- but it is a bit scorched. Medium body. Fairly tasty. But the oxidation definitely interferes.

Bottle at a big tasting (Nördprovning 2015). Smell off cofefee, dark malts and roasted. Coffee was dominant. Similar taste. The coffee dominates completely. Drinkable in small sips, but would have been much better with less coffee.

Bottle. Pitch black with densed, caffee latte like, medium head. Good lacing. Dark, roasted malts aroma - intensive coffee aroma also hints of dark chocolate and dark, dried fruits. In taste you can feel mainly coffee flavours, low acidity (coffee) and medium bitterness. Also dried fruits flavours noticable. Medium body, oily texture, dry, medium carbonation, finish is bitter with hints of dark chocolate and coffee. In general good coffee porter, may be not the perfect combination of coffee with dark beer, but still good.
