2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle share with BBGTC. Pours a black body producing a medium sized but shortlived head. Aroma is vingary with roasted malts and woody notes. Taste is soury, vinegar with loads of roasted malts. Balsamic vinegar is perhaps too prominent. Hints of liquorice and alcohol. Co2 levels are high, close to slick body. Was better a couple of years ago.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
"I really dug the base beer (an imperial wheat stout) and figured to like this one. Black pour, uber smooth body. Aroma of fudge and booze, quite nice. The flavor has that too, but an extra tartness that is juuust a little off putting, making this a very good beer instead of a world class beer."

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Interesting Norwegian take on the imperial stout theme with wheat and matured on aquavit barrels. Very thin beige head, all black colour. Complex aroma of raisins, coffee, walnuts, wheat, liquorice, wodka, minerals, red berries. Taste a deep maltiness with lots of sourish red berries and candied fruits, noticeable presence of sourish wheat, a very light kind of saltiness and roasted bitter finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by Cuso. Imperium strikes back. High expectations set. Lets go. Aroma strong strong chocolate, fruity, roasted. Almost black colour, dark brown head. Taste is chocolate coffee with moderate herbal sourness mixing in. Controversial, the ageing in oak did not go well here IMO.
