Commercial Description:
"Double" (imperial) wheat stout.
This imperial really strikes back. From a strange country far, far away, comes the only Imperial Wheat Stout in the known universe. Once again, the ’Hand’ brewery - four guys brewing in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale - boldly goes where no brewery has gone before.
US version is 9%.

Dark brown - near black - in colour with a thin brown coloured head, light lacing. The aroma is of chocolate, light alcohol, mild sweetness, some molasses and some smoke. The flavour is of chocolate, light smoke, good sweetness, roasty, very malty with some light alcohol. Sweet malty mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes with some light alcohol warmth, lingering, sweet.

The alcohol never became a factor, seemed to get more malty as it warmed. Pretty good.

500ml bottle obtained in a trade with JohnnyJ, thanks John.

Pours a nice opaque black deep deep ruby color with a nice tan head. Flavor is dark roasted malts with a really cool twang in the back. Is that the wheat? This is a very nice stout. Alcohol is hidden well.

I left all my other beers behind for you. The creamy stout, malt and barley, with a gently hint of alcohol, but your wheat back means even on the hottest day I would gladly get lit on you and be refreshed.

Has some good notes, but also some bad. Dark brown colour and unclear. Has a beige head, mostly diminishing. Aroma is burnt, coffee, dark. Flavor is...bitter in a unpleasent way.

Pours a nice dark black with a medium sized short lived tan head. Smell is roasty malt, but somehow lighter than most from the wheat. Some caramel sweetness and a hint of smokiness as it warms. Taste is quite bitter and hoppy for an imperial stout. Fairly ashy and roasty with some bitter sweet caramel. Slightly rich body and a bit of bubbly carbonation. This grew on me as I drank it, and ended up being a very solid, somewhat unique beer. Definitely worth a try.
