3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
50cl bottle purchased from Nordiska Ölbutiken in Copenhagen. Batch 671. Dark brown and high foam that disappears fairly quickly and leaves no traces on the glass. The drink is dark brown or nearly black. Smell of smoke, tar and damp leather with a hint of alcohol. Smoth and pleasant mouth feel with flavors of coffee and dark chocolate. Distinct taste of alcohol.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
"this is a nice change of pace type impy stout. smooth (from the wheat - different feel than usual) and balanced between sweet choclatey malts, a hint of smoke, licorice, and hops. Well done."

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared with friends. Jet black, probably clear. Small, tan color head.
Aroma: Medium intense, chocolate, some vanilla, bit warming alcohol.
Taste: Low sweetness with strong, bitter finish. Flavor of bitter chocolate with plum liquor.
Oily texture, but carbonation is too high. Very good imperial stout

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at SIB07. One of the winners of the afternoon. Thick hints of licorice, roast, and grains on the nose. Similar in flavor with more burnt than roast, molasses, grains, and a singe of booze on the end.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours completely black with a fine one-finger light-brown head. Aroma of roasted coffee and roasted malt. Taste is of roasted malts and coffee, darker fruits, burnt sugar, licorice, spices and hops. Short, dry and very roasted aftertaste. It’s got something tart in it too, which I don’t like. Full body and average carbonation. Not bad but I don’t really think it works super well. Drinkable though.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured thick and black with a trace tan head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was malty and sweet with wood, dark fruits, anise, chocolate and a boozy presence that worked well. The aroma was amazingly malty with biscuit, wood, marshmallow, chocolate. anise, cream, candied dark fruits and roasty coffee beans. Marvelously rich and complex. Long finish with lingering marshmallow, cream, chocolate, anise, candied dark fruits and booziness. Full bodied. Outstanding!

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Black, with minimal and very fast diminishing head. After few seconds withuo any cover. Very feint aroma of grain and coffee. Nothing more. Taste is also dissapointing, watery, with minmal roasted malts and coffee. Strong alcohol aftertaste. Very high carbonation. IMO, somehting went wrong. One of the worst RIS I’ve tried.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cellar temperature and into a chalice. Black as midnight, well conditioned with very fine, very minute carbonation. Two inches of initial tannish foam depletes to a thin spread. Huge, pungent waft released is reminiscent of a used ashtray, chocolate liquer, bitter, spent coffee beans, black strap, tar and rich red timber, and just a hint of kecap manis. All is almost lost once it hits the palate. It is full bodied, viscous and oily with a bitter/sweet mixture that works well. The complex nose now simplified and then amplified. It is tarrish with plenty of molasses and leathery, earthy notes. Long, rich and gammy burnt sugar and cola soda finish. The wheat offers little but it does have a burnt toast flavour in the linger. Not what I expected and a little boring to be honest. Not Haandbryggeriet’s best by far. (50cL, Batch 671, BB 21/10/16, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at HOTB. Aroma is complex- cocoa and chocolate milkshake notes with malty toffee and some dark fruits, milk. Very creamy. Medium heavy body. Big roasted malt notes with chocolate. Very nice. Reminds me of expedition stout, but lighter.
